What can I cook for a nice Christmas meal for two?
I want to cook a nice Christmassy, special meal for me and DC. But not Chrismtas dinner or a roast. 3 courses. I want something that references Christmas, but isn't a Christmas Dinner as such.
Any ideas?

We're going to a restaurant for Christmas dinner, and instead of turkey I'm having venison in a red wine jus...sounds lovely, and not turkey!
For my starter, I'm also having a lobster and crayfish cocktail with creme fraiche, sounds a bit posher than prawn cocktail!

Re: What can I cook for a nice Christmas meal for two?
blinis with smoked salmon to start then:
Macro Pierre White's roast crown of chicken with parsley and roasting juices is lovely
pot roasted pheasant
spiced beef
roasted goose
roast guinea fowl with a chestnut stuffing
followed by
white chocolate and cranberry tart
chocolate and chestnut terrine
Christmas trifle
Bucks fizz jelly
spiced ginger ice cream
that sort of thing!

Not Christmassy per se, but I would do pear and endive salad, fillet steaks with potato gratin and white chocolate cheescake for pudding
