Anyone up? please help, baby will not stop crying
Please help me ladies, i dont know what to do. Baby Jane has been feeding (breast feeding) pretty much solidly since 11pm. The minute she stops she screams and screams and screams. She falls asleep on the breast but wakes up within seconds of stopping and starts screaming. OH currently has her in another room to see if she'll calm down but i can hear her crying and crying. She was asleep from 430 till 830 and fed loads after waking up.
I'm in tears, i just dont know what to do. She just wont stop crying and my nipples are still so painful, i cant keep feeding her all night.

Darling. COuldn't read that and not post. I'm not a co-sleeper, I'm not anti, it's just not for me. But.... WHen Rubes was born I just took him into bed with me and let him suckle away while I dozed. It's hard, but trust me, it will pass and she will be sleeping all night before you know it. It just seems like forever when you're going through it.
Sleep deprivation is, after all a form of torture!
Take care, my honey, and make the most of only having one and get yourself off for a nap in the day time when she sleeps.
For the future, maybe start expressing so Mr Jane can do a few night feeds? I always used to express one side while feeding from the other. Get loads that way. My freezer was stacked with EBM after a few weeks~!
You'll get there my lovely.

As Stacey says - maybe she has colic. Also I found with my LO that she could get very unsettled at night. If memory serves me right, b/f babies often feed a lot in the evenings and at night in order to stimulate the supply. I used to snuggle up in bed with her with a nice drink to hand and the TV on in the bedroom and let her feed as needed.

Oh sweetie, I remember the first time mr wb went out when s was 3 weeks old and I phoned mr wb in tears because s hadn't stopped feeding for 4 hours. S still seems to settle better for mr wb as he doesn't smell of milk and dummies also worked for us.
Hope you managed to get some rest xx

I second the take her to bed with you

I always found the latch the painful bit to start, so leaving her latched all night actually helped.
As CP said, the first few weeks are spent night feeding to stimulate your supply- it's (yet another) hormone thing. Bear in mind she should sleep in the day now, take her to bed and have a nap yourself
Don't worry about housework, get a takeaway tonight
Hope you both get some sleep today.

Re: Anyone up? please help, baby will not stop crying
I'm third-ing what Micah said. J alternated between crying, feeding and being sick - the first two were much easier when she was in bed with me though the latter was a bit on the messy side! And yes, have today in bed with as much sleep as possible, don't try to fit in doing jobs. I didn't follow my own advice and left myself knackered and I think it reduced my milk supply.
I also agree with WB that J settled better for Mr WR because he didn't smell attractively of milk

Re: Anyone up? please help, baby will not stop crying
I remember those early weeks, especially with no 1 are soooo hard. Baby jane is just so little still and it can be a few more weeks until they are settled more in the evening. Mine were always chilled out in the day and little feeding / crying monsters at night til 4/6 weeks or so. We would feed / wind / change nappy and if still crying repeat
... It is very hard going and neither of mine had colic.

I had this too with Maddy moo & she settled no probs with Daddy as he didn't smell of booby juice.

Well done C, I remember feeling so sad...
