Does your child have a stocking/sack?

I was thinking about getting Isabel a stocking or sack that I can bring out every year and fill with small cheap gifts ie this year it might be a teether, some small grabby toys, when she is 8 its more likely to be colouring pens, bouncy balls, sweets that type of thing.

When she is older, I plan to sneak the stocking into her room for when she wakes and have her bigger presents downstairs, just like when I was a kiddy!

Does everyone do this? Are yours personalised?

I plan on getting one of these

but can't make my mind up which one I think perhaps the stocking as it is more 'Christmassy' and its small and it was only meant for small things, so would help me avoid the temptation of ramming it full, but then the sack is cute too! What do you think.

Paige has a sack that I made for her last year. I just bought some christmas fabric and then sewed some fabric letters on to spell her name. I've got enough to make one for Heffy too.

I bought really nice ones last year, similar size to the one you posted Joanna.

When we were little we used to have one of our dad's socks pegged to the end of the bed, and then a HUGE bag of presents from Father Christmas is our room when we woke up.

Our 'mum and dad' pressies were under the tree.

Last year Daisy had a little stocking on the end of her cradle with rattles and other little things in.

That is so cute Julesb!! Our girls have got largish fabric sacks with a drawstring. They have these at the end of their bed. I used to love the excitement of feeling a heavy Christmas stocking at the end of my bed on Christmas morning!!

Lucy had a stocking i bought from Woolies, i only got it because it matched our new decorations though

I might try and get her a personalised one this year though but still use the other one as a decoration somewhere else in the house.

I'd go for the stocking rather than the sack personally as like you say its more christmassy and its meant for small gifts. We used to get oranges and pennies in ours
