Those of you with the Tomy Discovery Dome
Is it just me or is this the biggest pile of crap i've every purchased!!
its driving me
Every single day i end up having to reconstruct the WHOLE thing, Lucy is so heavy handed the roof and feet are usually off within 10 mins of her being out of bed in the morning, then she pulls the ball ramp thing off one by one and it takes ages for me to get them back on. By 10am its usually in a heap in the hallway because i can't be bothered to put it back together again.
She DOES play with it, and when i've put it back up after her bath she sits and reads her books in there with the light on which is very sweet. But generally every day she just destroys it and i'm seriously thinking of just packing it away

I got toby this for is birthday, so he has only had it for a week, but it does seem like a complete faff, the feet keep falling off and Toby keeps sticking the balls in his fire truck or under the sofa so they are a bit pointless unless i want to spend half the day looking for them! Its also huuuge! I remember seeing lucys birthday pics and saw saw that she had it and i didnt think it looked too big but it takes up so much space!
It is quite cute to see him crawl in and then peek out though.

Yes SK it is cute to see their litte faces peeking from inside the tent isn't it :D
TBH the size doesn't bother me that much, ok it takes up a lot of space but our lounge doesn't have anything in it anymore aprt from the tv and 2 sofas and Lu's toys  everything else was causing problems when Lu started moving around so its been put elsewhere.
What annoys me about it is that it only takes Lucy 10 seconds to pull it into a 1000 pieces and hurl it across the room but it takes me 20 mins to find all the pieces and try and put it back together again.
I can't deny that she DOES play with it to some extent but most of the time she just destroys it

I can imagine how irritatng that would be, its quite fiddly to put together, you will just have to teach lucy how tobe a proper little consrtuction worker and build it up again after she has destroyed it!No doubt Toby will get the hang of trashing it pretty quickly!

We haven't used the feet on it for ages! She doesn't have it out everyday, it gets put in the gap between the travel cot & the wall.
The batteries for the light went ages ago, but I haven't replaced them.
She does sometimes pull the ball track thingy off, but it clips back on ok.
I think Argos do a play tent set that looks like it might have been better value for money

I only get it out about once a week. She doesn't really trash it but I get fed-up trying to retrieve the balls from under the sofa/tv/dining table etc etc and she always pulls that orange bit off that catches them
She's got a lot better at playing with it on her own lately. Now she will actually put the balls in the helterskelter bit intead of just wanting me to play peek-a-boo through the rainmaker!
