When do the midwives start measuring bump?
I forgot when she started to measure me last time and I'm having a little wobble that the baby isn't growing very much at the moment but if I measure it I might make myself worse!

Re: When do the midwives start measuring bump?
I think I was measured after 28 weeks.
. Give her a call and ask if you are concerned.

Re: When do the midwives start measuring bump?
Mine did for the first time at my last appt, so 24 weeks.
Am sure it was later with R, but I guess they all do things slightly differently.

Re: When do the midwives start measuring bump?
I think i was about 28wks, IMO its a waste of time though, with Lucy i was measuring 45wks when i went in to have her, the MW had been concerned that baby was too big, turns out she was only 6lb 3oz
i've had a much smaller bump this time, measuring only 37wks when i went in 3 days overdue and he was 7lb 3oz.

Re: When do the midwives start measuring bump?
My MW with DD didnt measure at all as she said it was a waste of time and it wasnt recommended anymore. When asked she also said that she though I would have about an 8lb baby - DD was 9lb 2oz!
This time MW measured me at 22 weeks and said I measured spot on, although everyone and I mean everyone has been commenting on the size of my bump and is very surprised when I say I still have 13 weeks to go.
I am not sure that it is much indication of how big baby will be TBH. My mum gave birth at approx 38 weeks to a baby she didnt even know she was having and he was 6lb 13oz!

Re: When do the midwives start measuring bump?
I don't know because the midwives don't want to see me
I think it was about 28 weeks last time though.
I know what you mean about the growth thing - I am nowhere near as big as I was at this stage with M (although am hoping that just means I'm having a normal sized baby this time round).Jedi Boy is 6, the Little Princess is 3....

I havent been measured yet Lu Lu. I'm also smaller than last time, which I have taken as an opportunity to eat an extra bowl of ice cream today

Re: When do the midwives start measuring bump?
I've never been measured in either pregnancy - guess it depends on the midwife.

Re: When do the midwives start measuring bump?
Wobble is over now. I do have a bump and baby is moving like mad so I know it's OK, it's just that my scan is on Weds and, apart from everything else there is to worry about, I'm worried they'll say the baby is small.
I am just hopefully of another nice sized baby (j was 7lb 8oz and that will do for me!)
