BUT that is not very helpful to you in with the current situation. I don't believe in vigilanty (sp?) groups and I do not think insighting hatred and getting an innocent person in legal trouble is the right thing to do.
So keep a close eye on your kids, speak to any of the local agencies to find out more information and go from there.

I pray that not even an glance falls on your kids and that something you all remain safe and happy in your home.

I will certainly be going to the police ... we're pretty certain that we know who he really is, (my husband did quite a lot of googling, and came across a man with the same surname, whom was a pastor jailed for 10 years ....) That's a few too many coincidences for me!

Anyway, thanks people. I'm not going to start any vigilante groups, I just wanted to sound off more than anything. Certainly can't tell my Mum as she was dead against us moving here to start with so I can just imagine the "I told you soos". Will let you know how my visit to the police goes.

I'm of the view that it's the ones you DON'T know about that are the dangerous ones.

At least this way you can be vigilant hon.

I dont know what the law is in NZ but I would imagine its similar if not more stringent than in the U.K regarding monitoring sex offenders-if hes been inside then he will be on the sex offenders register or similar,and where he lives should be monitored (btw the police dont house these offenders!!) and the fact that he is in contact with children should monitored and/or restricted.
Find out asap-dont waste your comapssion on these offenders-they will do anything to get what they want,they will manipulate and I dont believe personally that you can change your preference for children.
I think youre right to be concerned,dont rely on the kids to be open and tell you everything just keep them away from him,better safe than sorry.Trust your instincts!!

Well, it's official. Guessing Mrs ex-wife has been busy as our neighbours (the nice ones, not Mr pervy) had a visit from the local news crew whom did the original story on him when he was convicted. They are apparently doing a follow-up story ...

Up until now I was just hoping this was just an ex-wife with a bitter vendetta, but appears not and now I feel even sicker in the pit of my stomach.
