What does 12A at the cinema mean?

Dan wants to take Oliver to the cinema tonight to see transformers, as it is all Oliver and his friends talk about

I assume 12A means you can take children under 12, as long as they have an adult accompanying them??

Cool, so Oliver def won't be turned away at the door? I just worry as he's SO excited - he loves these transformer films

No, they might warn the adult with him that he might get frightened or come out shouting 'tits', but they won't refuse him entry.

      Thanks!!!

after what Oliver came out with the other day after going to the park and going on the swings near some teenagers(), if he started shouting 'tits' that would be preferrable

My Oliver went to see the new Transformers film a couple of weeks ago and he was fine to go in.
He enjoyed the film, although at 2 1/2 hours long he did get somewhat fidgity towards the end!!

Re: What does 12A at the cinema mean?

It means that children under 12 can go in with an adult but it's at the discrection of the adult. The BBFC brought it in after the release of the original Spiderman film as there were loads of complaints that it was given a 12 rating (which at the time meant nobody under that age could go and see it) because parents wanted to be able to take their younger kids to see it and they couldn't......

      xx
