Re: car seat questions - idiot's guide needed!

If you look on ebay you can get retro fit iso fix for most cars!!

In hindsight I would go for the Easyfix base as we now have a car with isofix and we have the Easybase and you can use the Easyfix base in a non iso fix car iyswim!!

So if your thinking of any more children or upgrading changing your car in the next year or so it might be better future planning to go for the isofix compatible one.

If you use the Easyfix base in an non isofix car the catches just slide under the seat and don't do anything. The belt attches the base to the car in the same wasy the easybase does.

My dad fitted our car seats to the chasis of the car in the 80's in our saab a very primitive form of isofix. So if you OH or someone you know is a bit handy with cars they should be able to help you weld the fixings on!

Thank you again ladies. Will definitely ask about isofix being fitted. DH is a mechanic by trade so is handy with fitting stuff in cars if he is able to do it himself. Will be calling Ford and asking them.

Thanks for the tip on getting the easyfix anyway LT666Y, I did wonder if you could use the easyfix as an easybase in case of upgrading cars later. I am sure we will but not for a while!
