If you have a double bed with a king sized duvet on it...

    does it look a bit

Me and DH always moan about the duvet being snatched and when the kids both get in i'm the one who ends up with my nekid arse hanging out the bed freezing

We can't afford to buy a kingsized bed and when we swap rooms with the kids we won't have space in the other bedroom for one anyway so i've bought a new duvet and covers. Also because we had a new mattress a couple of months ago and its about 4 inches thicker than our old one and the double duvet just didn't cover the mattress and it looked unsightly.

Well i've just been and put the new duvet etc on and well it looks a bit maybe because i'm just not used to it and am used to seeing the underside of the mattress hanging out from underneath the duvet. It might also be because its a very low bed (on legs but only about 4 inches off the floor) so the duvet is practically touching the floor on both sides, i suppose if it was on say a divan double bed that was higher up it wouldn't look so bad.

It DOES look a billion times better than it did before becuase at least the bed is covered it just looks a bit

It doesn't look odd to me! You're supposed to have a larger sized duvet than bed for the "generously covered" look. You'll get used to it in no time, PF, and who cares what it looks like if your arse isn't getting frozen every night!

We have a double bed in our spare room and I have a kingsize duvet on it. It certainly doesn't look odd (I don't think so anyway!).

At least your tush won't be cold tonight!

maybe its just because i'm so used to having a smaller duvet on it i much prefer the covered look

It does not look odd - we have done exactly the same, due to the same problem with dd in our bed.

Hmm i'm thinking its because our bed is so low down to the floor, like i said if it was a stardard sized double bed the duvet wouldnt be touching the floor on either side.

We do and out bed is low as well, I just fold the edges in, under the duvet so doesn't look bad or drape on the floor.

We've got a superking sized duvet on a kingsized bed and I don't think it looks daft - not big enough sure, but not daft.

    You'll get used to it.

our old bed was very low to the floor with kingsize duvet and i still preferred it looking oversize - you could cheat though and pull it down further to the side that cannot be seen from the door and tuck it under the bed
