What everyone else has said - if it's bothering her that much then help her tidy them up a bit.
I started shaving my legs at about 11 - I'm not particularly hairy but I got very aware of things like that at that age.

Re: What age would you do this?
I am waiting for this one, K has quite bushy brows. I was thinking about starting a thread about veet/shaving a pre-teens as K is going to need to remove the hairs under her arms and probably her bikini line soon, and she keeps mentioning her legs too. Why do they grow up so fast

Re: What age would you do this?
I was recommended by a beautician to use the Jolen bleach on DD's legs to lighten the hairs rather than starting to remove them initially. However it really irritated her skin so we went straight to the Veet. I use the "sensitive/bikini" one for her and it works fine on the the thick hairs on her legs.

Re: What age would you do this?
Why would a pre teen need to do her bikini line

DD2 is 10 and has a form of precocious puberty. She had a lady shave for doing her under arms for her birthday in May. She is getting a bit self concious in vest tops. She has pubic hair, but it is where it should be, not on her inner thighs etc.
Unless your DD has serious hormonal issues I can't imagine she would have pubic hair that would hang outside a "respectable" swimming cossie (by this I mean a sporty cut one, suitable for swimming in, not a "boy magnet" bikini, that even my near 16yr old wouldn't wear!).
If you are worrked that hair may be "visible" through the suit get a lined one.

My dd has a monobrow so I'm sure she'll ask when she's of age. I'll be happy to help clean it up- I don't want her to have to stress about it.

Re: What age would you do this?
I'm sure my mum waxed between my eyebrows cause I was upset about it
when I was at primary school, so under 12yrs old. I am glad she was in ageement to help me, god knows what mess I'd have got in to otherwise
I used to nick her ladyshave and do my legs though had no real need to as hair was fine and blond, I was just self conscious.

Re: What age would you do this?
My auntie plucked mine for me when I was 10/11. She kindly told me they met in the middle and would look better if they did not. She did a great job, but my Mum was angry because she was not consulted.
If she feels upset or is getting comments about her brows from others then either let her pluck them (oo er!) or get them done by a pro at a salon for the first time, then your DD will have a line to follow. You must give your children 2 things in life: Roots and wings
Children need love, especially when they do not deserve it. ~Harold Hulbert
Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see. ~Neil Postman, The Disappearance of Childhood (introduction), 1982
When childhood dies, its corpses are called adults and they enter society, one of the politer names of hell. That is why we dread children, even if we love them, they show us the state of our decay. ~Brian Aldiss
