6 year old - changes in teeth/gums?
My dd is just 6 and recently I've noticed that her teeth look, well, weird! I'm thinking it's just them gearing up for getting wobbly and falling out but no-one has warned me lol!
Basically her teeth seem to be lower and her gums more pronounced. Her upper teeth also seem to curve in slightly too. It's all consistent with what I imagine must happen if they 'big' teeth are coming in but I just thought they got wobbly
I didn't know there were any other visible changes iyswim (although probably only I would notice)
Please tell me this is normal and it happened to your child too!

Re: 6 year old - changes in teeth/gums?
Mine DS is almost 6 and has had something similar happen to his front teeth. We haven't had any fall out yet, or even any really wobbly ones. With the front ones, its almost like one of them has gone up into the gum (it probably hasn't, its probably more likely that the other one is being forced down by the adult tooth above).
My DS's seem to curve in slightly too.

Thank you DDM, it's good to know that dd's not the only one! We've not got any wobbliness or gaps yet though either. That joy's still to come

Yes Lucys gums seemed to swell as her big teeth were pushing through. As soon as they came through they went back down.

Re: 6 year old - changes in teeth/gums?
My dd has now had 3 teeth come out (all at the bottom) and I have to confess until the first one came out, I had no idea. Didn't notice anything different at all.
But then I'm terribly unobservant
I guess it is all normal stuff - there has to be lots of shifting around when teeth start falling out?
My dd's new bottom teeth are not very straight at the moment, but I imagine this will even out as she gets all her other new ones and they all make room and settle down?
I just hope she doesn't have to have braces, like I did!

Re: 6 year old - changes in teeth/gums?
Dd1 has lost two lower front teeth (she's 6) and her two centre upper ones are wobbly. They now look really small in her mouth and the ones which fell out looked teeny tiny when the tooth fairy came to take them away.
