. Just got on the scales and am in shock tbh?

Haven't weighed myself (have been too scared too tbh ) since my appointment at the Hospital when i went for my initial scan.

They thought it was my Booking App so they weighed me, turned out i was just 8wks though so i went back for another scan at 12wks and did the rest of the App then.

Anyway, scales at the Hospital said i was 9st 3lb, whihc sounded about right as i hadn't really lost any weight since i'd had Max

So that was at 8wks, i've just gotten on the scales at home, which i think are pretty accurate within a couple of lb's each way, and at 21wks i'm ...

    9St 3lb

Can that be right?? I've gained NO weight in all that time. I certainly feel bigger, my bump is growing and i'm pretty sure my bum/legs have gotten bigger, so how can i not of gained any weight??

I'm eating well, probably TOO well if i'm honest and i've managed to single handedly polish off almost 30 of the kids Easter Eggs PLUS the chocolate bars that go with them so i'm certainly not starving myself.

I'm quite shocked tbh, i reckoned i would be at LEAST 10St by now??

Has anyone else had this? I've not been ill really, not been off my food, not been sick? Shall i fully expect to pile on a further 4St or something hiddeous in the next 20wks

I think the second half of pregnancy is where most of the weight gain comes from. I have a pal who is 24 weeks and has only gained 6lbs so far, and I remember not gaining much during the first half of pregnancy this last time around (like half a stone or something). It is possible that you have just been running around after the other two so much that you haven't gained anything, but the baby will still be growing.

Keep an eye on it though PF, because you do tend to have tiny babies and go early, so I'd maybe mention it to the midwives so they can monitor you.

Not sure if you remember but I actually lost weight with Scott. I didn't start putting weight on until about the last two months and when he was born I was only about 2lbs heavier than before I fell pg.

I think you put weight on more in 2nd trimester as MG says , I haven't weighed myself at all this pregnancy bar my booking in when mw weighed me. Id also say you have both Max and lucy to run around after this pregnancy so may not put as much weight on as previous pregnancys as long as baby is growing well I would'nt worry as some people just do not put on weight when pg.

You just inspired me to weigh myself too, I was 57kg at my booking appointment and I am still 57kg! This is despite looking like I have a beach ball stuffed up my top!

When I was pregnant with DS2 I was 7st 4lbs originally then 7st 12lb at my booking appointment at 13 weeks.

I didn't weigh myself until I was 28 weeks and by then I was 9st exactly.

I've recently weighed myself again and am now 7st 7lbs. 9st if i'm holding DS2 on the scales with me!!

It could be the scales as well PF. You probably have gained a few pounds but your scales are different from those used at your booking appt so they don't show up the difference. As MG says, worth mentioning to the midwife so they have it on record but as long as your bump is growing fine and baby is kicking away then I wouldn't worry about it.
ETA: For what is it worth, I lost weight in my first trimester and so would have been probably close to (but possibly a bit less than) my pre-preg weight at around your stage. But then I didn't have any bump to speak of at your stage either. I was a late bloomer. I still went on to gain over 2 stone overall though!

I didn't put on any weight with Carmen til gone 22 weeks, except the half a stone that I'd lost in the first trimester through feeling too sick to eat. My midwife said it wasn't a problem so long as I gained after about 22 weeks. Tbh, running around after Max and Lucy is going to keep your weight down!

I didn't put on any weight untl the last 6 weeks or so (but did have horrendous morning sickness until 20 weeks) and only put on 2kg in total so not a lot. As Mrs B said, running after Max and Lucy will offset all of those easter eggs!
