symptoms of urine infection?

I am having pains on and off in my lower pelvis on and off for a few days. It gets especially bad when I need a wee. Now TMI I don't think my wee smells different, but can't think what else it could be.

I don't really want to waste the midwifes time, if its just part of normal stretching pains, but then again I go onhols a week on tuesday so am thinking maybe i should get checked out.

Has anyone else had one in PG and what were your symptoms?. I am downing the cranberry juice at present.

the mw can do a quick dip test if u give her a sample, if you do they can treat of quickly

I keep having dip tests and they keep coming back with protein in, so keep having to send samples away but they always come back as no infection.... but MW said that during pregnancy UTI's show themselves different to when not pregnant.
* needing toilet very often
* very little coming out when you go for wee
* cramps in lower stomach
* pain or burning when urinating

Might be worth catching some wee in a clear container if you can and see what it looks like - not just the smell IYSWIM. I had a UTI with Adam and ended up at the walk-in centre as the pain was so bad, all behind my bump but really sore. The Dr took one look at my wee sample and said 'yep, UTI, it shouldn't look like pineapple juice' And she was right, instead of clear 'pale straw' like you'd expect it was cloudy pale yellow

if there's a surestart centre in your area they often have mw drop in sessions which are useful if you can't get in with your mw
