Why do kids like "Goodnight Moon"?
Louis got the Goodnight Moon book at a jumble sale ages ago, I had no idea it was the most famous American kids book etc etc.
But WHY do they like it?
It has odd pictures... the rhyming and rhythm is pretty dodgy (maybe I'm reading it wrong??).
Old lady whispering hush?? thats just FREAKY!!
But yet, two years on... it is still the favourite.
Anyone else wonder?

Yes it is a strange book, and they do all seem to ike it. J is obsessed by the moon and stars, but that's can't be the only reason why. I had never heard of it until a little while ago.
I don't like it actually
I tried hiding it so we could stick with the gruffalo (and his child) but she found it buried in her blanket box

I don't get it either. But then I don't like Where The Wild Things Are - I think Max is a cocky little f*cker.

I bloody hate that book. I groan everytime Alex pulls it out of his bookshelf. There are a few I hate actually, The Tiger Who Came to Tea and Bears in the Night in particular drive me potty.

I haven't actually read Goodnight Moon so I'll vet it before purchasing.
