    . Catching bugs

Just wondering how often you have caught a stomach bug from your baby/toddler/child?

I am working thru my anxiety with sick and my counsellor is giving me tactics to use thru CBT and if I get the facts straight I can cope better. (For example, she said she never caught one from her kids and her oldest is 17; my mom said rarely did she catch one from us)...so just wondering really.

    Sorry for the stupid question

Rarely. I've just started CBT for the same phobia as you have I also work in a school which I would imagine heightens my risk. Our school nurse reckons...

good hand washing techniques with liquid soap including washing wrists and thumbs

only use anti bac gel as an emergency resort until you can wash hands

    dry hands on paper towels

air the room for at least 30 minutes-vacate the room if possible.

So far not yet. J is rarely sick, but the few times he has been no-one else has got it.
I'm emetephobic too so its one of my biggest fears. Just be really stringent with hygeine and the risks are reduced.

I caught it once, but not off DS --- I gave it to him!!!

I recommend the thorough handwashing advice given above and a good quality pro/pre biotic everyday for both of you.......as you know I swear by these for keeping stomach bugs away now, as even when DS's whole class caught one last winter DS didn't catch it.

Like Aj, my LO was in hosp for sick bug but none of us caught it. I am surprised as she was sick on and around me often. I am a sick phobic too, I am better than I was (ie ok with me and Mia) but adults and older children I freak out over. I must come across as v unsympathetic in school as I push children towards door shouting get to the toilet if I think there's a hint they'll be sick, or run them towards bins, or tell a million distracting jokes in the hope to distract them off it!!!
