Why did my cake go a bit soggy?
Made an orange and yoghurt sponge cake today from the Sainsburys mag that dropped on the mat last week.
Followed the instructions to the letter, but am a bit disappointed as the base was a bit heavy and soggy
. Still tastes fab
, but not the nice light sponge I was hoping for
. Think it'll be good with custard as a pud for the kids though so it wont go to waste
Any ideas what went wrong?'We do not stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing'

Did you take it out of the tin to cool?

I left it for 10 mins in the tin ( as directed on recipe) then cooled on a wire rack
