Sugar paste Lily of the Valley
Does anyone have any tps on how to make this?
I've offered to make a cake for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary and they had lily of the valley in their flowers so I would like to put it on the cake. I'm a flower virgin so it needs to be as easy as possible!
And...what actually is the difference between sugarpaste and fondant icing?
Oh and I have a fab cake decorating shop that is near by.
TIA

Buy them

I bought some really lovely sugarpaste flowers from here for a christening cake.

Much easier than making them IMO!

To make flowers it is better to use petal paste (you can get a recipe online if you google it - you will need a kenwood mixer or something similar to make it) You can buy it - which is much easier.

If you want to make some flowers there are loads of great clips on You Tube.
Please post some pics when you have made them - I love making and seeing petal paste flowers.
Unless you plan on making them regularly you may be as well buying them ready made as start up cost for flowers is quiet expensive - as I know to my cost as it is quiet addictive.

No Lily of the Valley clips

I can do fondant covering on the cake - and I already have a 1m long rolling pin which makes this much easier.
I'll try and remember photos when I'm done :-)

Re: Sugar paste Lily of the Valley
Thank you!
The cake is in the oven at the moment and the whole house smells divine! I'm doing a 12inch round fruit cake so 9 eggs, 1.65kg of fruit and 6hrs in the oven :-)
