Christmas menu's
So what is your Christmas day menu?
This is what I'm thinking for ours but I'm also scanning for inspiration so I can make a list of things to cook
Breakfast - Pancakes with fruit, bucks fizz
Mid morning - selection boxes
well that's what it's likely to be
Lunch - pretty traditional roast turkey, stuffing, roast spuds etc. Probably something like chrimbo pud afterwards but may have some kind of tart instead if we want something lighter
Tea - leftovers and salad most likely washed down with port and cheese
DH likes to be quite traditional and since he's doing the main roast this year I'm quite happy to go along with it.
So what are you having?

Re: Christmas menu's

We're at the parents this year and after discussion we're having
Breakfast - Croissants, pain au chocolat etc & Xmas muffins with bucks fiz
Lunch - Roast turkey, stuffing, roast spuds & parsnips, veggies & the usual sauces & gravy. We're v traditional here too
Tea - depending on what time we eat lunch, my Mum is cooking after all
. Most likely a cheese board, turkey sarnies etc
I don't like Xmas pud so while everyone else is having that I'm having profiteroles
Mum to 2 perfect little boys

Re: Christmas menu's
Breakfast - some kind of fancy cereal or maybe crumpets, chocolate etc.
Lunch - trad dinner with all the trimmings at my parents
Dinner - usually no room after a massive Christmas lunch, but if there's space I tend to make turkey and bread sauce sandwiches and fill up on mince pies and chocs.

This is what I have planned:
Breakfast-
Eggs benedict with a choice of smoked salmon or pancetta served on English muffins with Bucks Fizz
Champagne cocktails and canapes an hour before lunch-
Blinis topped with creme fraiche and choice of smoked salmon, black olives or red onion chutney and port and stilton pate on melba toasts.
Lunch-
Roast turkey (free range from local farm), roast potatoes (in semolina and goose fat), brussel sprouts with pancetta and chestnuts, carrots with lemon and thyme, maple parsnips, sage and onion stuffing, gingerbread stuffing, sausages wrapped in bacon and bread sauce.
Homemade Christmas pudding or Nigella's Spiced Chocolate Cake, brandy butter, custard and choice of three ice creams (making these next weekend- Scottish honey and whisky, cinnamon and christmas pudding flavours)
Tea:
Turkey sandwiches, sauage rolls, mini Eccles cake mince pies and brandy butter, cheese board.
I can't wait

Re: Christmas menu's
we are out, but like the idea of pancakes and fruit for breakfast, sounds like it could be quite light, and we are eating lunch at 1.45.
Lunch, I have forgotten what I am having, but 3 course, with turkey for the main.
Evening, Just bits, guess sausage rolls, mince pies, gammon, not sure what else yet
