Share with me your toddler worst tantrums!
I have had a right morning so far.
Amy was up at 5ish but did go back to sleep eventually but as a result was still asleep at 8am so needed to get her up so we could take Claire to school.
Of course she was in a grumpy mood as she always is when woken. She refused to get dressed. Even when I suggested she chose her clothes..etc. Refused any breakfast. She just kept screaming no at everything I said and refused to move.
In the end I had to dress her myself - which wasnt much fun as she is sooo strong but I managed it. Of course she refused to put her coat and boots on too so had to do that aswell.
When we left she refused to walk so I had to hold tightly to her arm while trying to push the pushchair at the same time. She just screamed and screamed all the time. It was awful.
I did the usual - if you dont come now I will just leave you - and then pretend to walk away but Claire got upset by that so it wasnt very effective.
I had to grip hold of Amy all the way to school. But when we got to school she just snapped out of it. Was laughing and playing in the play ground as if nothing had happened.
To people looking though it must have looked awful me dragging a screaming child along but there was no other option.
So share with me your most embarassing/long tantrums from your toddlers.

It's the pits when they do it in public. So embarrassing.
Mine was in a maternity shop in Nottingham. The 'helpful' assistant let William out of his pushchair so he could play with the toys. He didn't want to leave the shop, I did. Screaming, kicking, hitting etc etc. I managed to drag him out of the shop and a lovely lady came over to help me wrestle him into the pushchair. I thought I was going to faint, the lady's husband ran to get me a bottle of water. I cried. They walked me to where Mr jj was picking us up. I still cringe when I think about it.
I'd love to thank the lady and her husband for helping me.

Argh, R can still sometimes but like this but, thankfully, it is getting less now that she is beginning to understand the consequences when she does.
It is awful, though, and it makes you feel as if everyone's looking, thinking what a bad parent you are.
I have lost count the number of times I had to peel R off the floor.

Mine was a public one too.
DD decided when I need to take something back to next that she just did not want to go. FOr no apparant reason she stopped in the door way collapsed in a heap between the security alarms, and was screaming "no shopping mummy" I had to haul her up under my arm, along with the big ceiling light under the other arm and march through the shop while she is kicking and screaming.
I then put her down at the till where I proceeded to have a 25 minute arguement with the sales people. (very complicated, i bought it in store but was delivered at home and I didnt have the receipt, but did have a delivery not and the original packaging but they wouldn't accept it)
All the while DD is laid in a heap screaming. In the end they magically found my original order placed 2 days before and refunded me, I think they wanted anything to get the haranged and angry mum and my devil child out of the shop

Re: Share with me your toddler worst tantrums!
My kids always manage to make their worst tantrums most public!
I swear ds2 sent me into labour with a huge tantrum after an antenatal app and being told he couldn't take this bizarre elephant head thing from the toy box home. He screamed louder than I thought a toddler could and caused a huge scene the whole way home. The kid had stamina, I'll give him that. By mid morning the next day we were holding his baby sister
Dd, I fear, hasn't given us her worst tantrum yet. She's getting really tired after preschool, she's a tantrum waiting to happen.

Lovely to hear I am not the only one. Amy certainly has stamina too.

Re: Share with me your toddler worst tantrums!
DD1 - best ever epic tantrum in the middle of a park full of tutting grannies as she "needed" teddy to go in the double buggy next to her and not her newborn sister. Total half hour stand off which it was difficult for me to win what with having to juggle a) a newborn b) a double buggy c) a recent c-section scar and d) dd1 - she was very near the ducks and water throughout the tantrum. I still have flashbacks now.
DD2 - best ever epic tantrum Morrisons store and supermarket as she wanted to go in the Mickey ride. Escaped from car seat 3 times. Helpful man said "mine never did that".
ATM we have the daily battle of the coat with dd2 which is always good for a laugh and generally happens in the playground. I may just buy her some thermals and have done with it.
Sure the best tantrums with dd2 are yet to come, she is just getting warmed up tbh. Hope the rest of your day is better!

Re: Share with me your toddler worst tantrums!
Makes me feel a bit better I am not alone.
First time I was out with new baby and toddler last month. eleanor refused to get into the car in supermarket car park. I had no energy to push her in. She screamed blue murder. Baby started screaming. sat in the car with the baby.
Kept giving it a go to get Eleanor back in. Reasoning didn't work, shoving her in didnt work, couldnt get the straps done up. She started pulling my hair so I started screaming at her.
Man stood and watched so I shouted at him too.
Me in tears, new baby and toddler screaming. Finally managed to get her in the car and straps up. Crying all the way home!! Took 40 mins all in all.
Did another massive tantrum when the HV arrived. But she was LOVELY and said she had 4 kids who often had a fit over something or other.
