Update on Gracie
Hi all just thought I'd update you on gracie and her jaundice- my home internet has deaded but for some reason I can get on on phone anyhow....
we were admitted Friday night and g was dehydrated when we arrived. They repeated her SBR test and luckily her jaundice levels had lowered from the morning so she didnt actually need lights! They then scared me however as they decided to run a whole host of other tests on her in case it wasn't JUST jaundice making her poorly. She was 8lb8.5 born and is now 7lb9 :(
they tested because shes A+ and I'm A- they then tested cos I'm GBS + and even though I had anti biotics there is always a risk- however everything was fine apart from dehydration
she now HAS to have 70mls "top up" after every breast feed- DH went out and hired me an electric pump so she is being topped up with EBM she has also had a few ozs of aptimil but I have made my peace with that- if she hasn't put weight on by Monday they will probably re admit her for drips etc so this weekend it is Operation Put On Weight anyway we can
she is having loads more periods of wakefulness which is lovely, and waking up shouting for a feed which she's never done so fingers crossed we're on the up
I had to go and buy her "tiny baby " clothes yesterday as shes so little now- but at least she looks cosy and less like a drowned rat now!

Re: Update on Gracie
Oh bless her
I remember when Thomas dropped to just over 6 pounds, they are just so tiny
You do what you have to do to make your little girl better again Pops, her health is the most important thing and it sounds like you're doing the very best you can for her and a great job - I'm sure she'll be a little fatty in no time
