Hands up if you feel like a hippo?
ME!!!!!
Finally succumbed to maternity jeans today which are SOOO unattractive. Don't normally care what I look like but today I feel extra specially frumpy.
Nothing fits and I've been round the shops and can't find anything I like there either. I'm in my DP mat jeans and a normal tshirt from tesco which doesn't hide the stupid blue stretchy panel on my jeans. Also in trainers again
because my stupid feet swell so much during the day and its too rainy to wear flip flops.
GRRRR self indulgent rant over - only 4 months to go!!!

Me too
I feel like a beast and I cant wait to get back into proper clothes. My maternity jeans seem to of shrunk so know I cant wear even the slightest of heel as they look half mast which means flip flops or flatties. I want to get back into heels and nice underwear
14 lbs lost
9-14 lbs to go or whenever I have slim thighs

HA! i am not going to fight with you over this one lois, but can i just say, even my maternity clothes are too small now and i STILL haven a pack of 20 fun sized milky ways, 2 packets of mini wagon wheels and an enormous block of gruyere to get through in the next week....
but sympathies blossom, why do you think i have been hibernating for the past 4 months!
lots of love

Re: Hands up if you feel like a hippo?
oh definitely, i feel 100 times bigger this time round - mr b says my belly is enormous compared to splash - and what with the midwife saying nameless has 'nice broad shoulders' i think he's going to be gigantic
i have put on loads more weight in general as well though - i'm already heavier than i was with splash and i started out a good few kg lighter
i am soooo not doing this again in a hurry!
still, good to know we all feel as disgusting as each other. i suppose....

Re: Hands up if you feel like a hippo?
Definitely.... I just caught sight of myself in the mirror and my first thought was 'OMG I look huge'.
It's like my bump has had a major growth spurt in the last couple of weeks - I used to think it was relatively small, but now it's absolutely enormous
(slight over-reaction I think as I was exactly the 'right size', whatever that means, at my 30 week check on Tuesday).
I hate having to wear flat shoes too
, although as I can't see my feet anymore, I don't know why I'm worrying
Jedi Boy is 6, the Little Princess is 3....

Re: Hands up if you feel like a hippo?
My bump has had a real growth spurt in the last week - although I don't actually feel that *big* as such, the whole thing is now rockhard and really unwieldy, suddenly shoes and socks are a total nightmare as there's just no give in the bump at all, up until now I've still been able to reach and just squash Beano a bit
when required!
I've actually gained less weight this time though
and am measuring small for dates (same as last time) so don't think I officially can say I'm a hippo - but I do *FEEL* like one at times, especially when my spd is playing up as then I find the best way to walk is with the real pregnancy weeble 'roll' which I'm sure didn't happen until later last time
to go to first goal

Bluebabe & Roo - I won't be able to tie my shoes for much longer as it's an impossibility to bend down or bring my feet up to me!!! I've bought a couple of pairs of flat ballet slip ons from Next to get me through the next few months!!!

Re: Hands up if you feel like a hippo?
I know - I had a lovely pair of slip-on type sandals but I broke them
and the new ones I bought have those silly thin fiddly straps that need buckling up
What's made it soooo much worse is Laura's nursery are having building work done so most of the age groups are all in together at the moment, and if the babies are in with her then the whole room becomes a 'no shoe' zone, and it's *such* a faff for me. I know why they do it, but that doesn't make it any easier, and I'm getting a bit sick of probably the world and his wife seeing my knickers as I'm flailing around on the floor in a skirt trying to get the damn things on/off
