So so so clingy
A is super clingy to me at the moment. She's been like it for about 3 weeks now. I can't do anything without her right there with me and she won't even be left with DH whilst I have a shower.
Is clingyness just a phase or is there anything I can do to ease it a bit?

It's a phase I think
Matthew went through it a few weeks ago but he's fine and not remotely clingy at the moment.
It was really tough while it lasted - I did leave him with DH while I showered etc. but I could hear him screaming for me outside the bathroom door the whole time. And DH couldn't do anything.... it was all 'Mummy, Mummy do it' the whole time.
- hopefully it will wear off soon

J went through a phases like this a couple of months ago. He'd get upset around his grandparents etc who he'd always been fine with. It just passed though and he's fine again now. Haven't a clue what caused it.

I can't remember how old she is but I'm sure it is around 2
T's nursery told me that apprently they go through another separation anxiety rather like they did at 9 months when they get to 2 as they start to realise they are independant from you etc.
Thomas was like this earlier in the year and I thought it was because I was pregnant but I think the above might actually have been the answer as he's getting a lot better now

Anna did this about the same age but I thought it was something to do with being aware that her life was about to change and that she wouldn't be the only child soon. It did pass within a few weeks though, to the extent that when she came to see me in hospital she spent the whole time wandering off looking at everyone elses babies and happily waved goodbye without a backward glance when it was time to go
leaving me feeling a bit

Yes, J is going through little spates of the same thing; it really is infuriating for everyone. Having said that, she does do it a bit with OH now - don't know if that's a good or bad thing
Anyway, distraction is the only thing that works for us - ie if the other person has something or is doing something much more exciting than boring old mummy

I mean FFS!
Or if I go to the loo- well he will lie on the floor outside crying for me
Daddy is NOT allowed to change his nappy, it has to be me (Gee thanks
)
So he has basically got more and more clingy to me the older he's become- as when he was younger, daddy used to change nappies no problem and so on....

Mrs SC - glad someone else is experiencing EXACTLY what I'm going through
A will not let anyone else change her nappy or carry her or get her out of her cot, it has to be me otherwise the world ends!
Yesterday and today she's been really upset at going in to nursery as well, although she's OK when I pick her up. I don't want to go through the whole nursery drop-off drama again! I had it for a month when she first started
