Re: pubic bone pain
Sounds like SPD
It's horrid and be careful or you can make it much much worse. It feels like being kicked in the crotch by a donkey, doesn't it?
First time round I didn't know what it was or how to work with it and ended up sofa bound or in a wheelchair
The second time around I found this link and it made all the difference in the world. I managed to stay on my feet and in SO MUCH less pain by following all the advice on it.

Re: pubic bone pain
Could possibly be SPD
Is a stepping motion really painful? There's a load of info on here:

It's the pregnancy related pelvic girdle pain one.
If it is SPD, take it as easy as possible and get a referral to a physio straight away. You won't be doing stirrups

Re: pubic bone pain
It does hurt to walk, but its not excruciating pain. It slows me down though. Sitting and standing also hurt and so does repositioning, so it does look like SPD
I shall go to the GP Monday or Tuesday and get a referral
The thing I worry about the most is that they say you shouldnt have an epidural and I *want* an epidural and not having one is out of the question and not up for negotiation

Re: pubic bone pain
It depends on how you are Banana and is something you will have to talk to your drs about. I ended up with 2 elective c-s due to SPD (and other pre-existing joint conditions) so I'm absolutely no expert on vaginal deliveries or pain relief.
Please please please take it easy though. There is no soldiering through SPD you just have to take it easy. I learned that lesson through experience (and bloody painful experience at that)

Re: pubic bone pain
Sorry Banan but it does sound like SPD
I don't see why you shouldn't be able to have an epidural though unless it gets really bad. Mine started at about 25 weeks with Betsy and I took all the advice to stop it getting worse, and in the end did give birth at home, normally in a pool. The hardest part SPD wise was getting in and out of the pool!
