    Any tips for teething?

This has probably been done a million times but anyway, help would be appreciated-

Aht sort of things could/should I be doing to help him with the pain? I have some Boots teething gel which seems quite good when I manage to get it onto his gum, he usually sucks it off my finger before I get chance and I have a MAM teether which my friend recommended, he's not that bothered about that though.

    Any other thoughts?

None of the gels you rub into their gums worked for Eve. The only think that had an effect was Ashtons & Palmers teething powder.

We used Ashton and Palmers powders here too and rate them highly We also used dentinox teething gel (which I smear on the dummy before sort of swishing it round her gums and then letting her sook it)

The good thing for me about dentinox (over say bonjela) is that you can apply it every 20-30mins instead of just 4x a day so if they are having a really bad teeth day you can use it more.

I wouldn't use medised, its been reviewed & banned for the under2s. If you've already used it with him, then he should be ok, but I wouldn't use it for the 1st time. Its really unpredictible (which is why the license has been changed).
For Holly, bonjella gel works well, as does anebosol. She doesn't seem to notice the dentinox gel. Teethers with water inside stored in the fridge are good. The tommee tippee gummy teethers are a hit.

Thanks everyone, I thought I'd heard about medised being ill-advised for U2s, tbh I've only ever given him Calpol three times, I'm not a bit fan of pain relief than you take orally, I'd rather have something topical IYSWIM.

I find teething powders by Nelsons are brilliant - you can get them in Tesco or any chemist....Bonjela is good as well, Alex also used to like to suck/chew on a cold Muslin, it must soothe his gums!
