First period after giving birth?

My little one will be 11 weeks old this week.

She was born by c-section and I stopped breast feeding at six weeks but I still haven't had a period. Is this normal or should I be concerned??

My DS was also born by c section and when I stopped breastfeeding , AF didn't apper for at least another 6 weeks

Ismee, I haven't had a period yet either and I remember after Alex it was over 5 months before AF returned.

W was bron by c-s and only breastfed for a matter of days.

Well i'm still BFing so no suprises that my AF hasn't turned up yet but with Lucy i stopped BFing at 5.5 months and had a normal vaginal delivery but my AF didn't come back until Lucy was about 7 months old then i didn't have another for about 10wks if i remember correctly.

I'd thank your lucky stars, the 1st AF after having a baby is the Mother of all AF's

I had a C-section and stopped BFing at around six weeks and got mine about five weeks later - but everybody is different (and my cycle is like clockwork) so you may get yours soon or it may take a little longer.

And agree with PF - the first one after birth was just

The good news is that mine have since settled down and are a lot shorter and less painful than they were before I had a baby!

Josh was born by c-section and I BF for 6-7 months and didn't get my period until just before he was a year old.

also agree, the first AF after birth is horrible. I actually had to dig out the maternity towels again

and also agree again, they are shorter and less painful now.

Well then, I'm pissed off!

I think I've already had a period!! DD2 is 5 weeks old tomorrow and exclusively breastfed! Hmph!

yep, faeriemoo, some people get all the luck. I exclusively bf C for 6 months and got AF back......exactly 4 weeks post section, and every 4 weeks

With W I thought I might have been a bit luckier, but only made it to 14w, better I suppose but I am still exclusively bf

That's good to know, thank you for all your replies girls. I've already picked up the pill from the Docs but can't take it till the first day of my first AF obviously.

I will hope it doesn't come back too quickly if it's going to be a bad one!!
