Re: LARPERS confess here
Ok, so I outed myself over on the relationships board...
I have tabletop roleplayed for 16 years and LARPED for 15, since getting pregnant I've also become addicted to online gaming courtesy of world of warcraft *hangs head in shame*
I've played lots of different RP games, most recently Star Wars d20 version (obsessional star wars fan is Mr Elektra!) and many LARP systems too, LT, Omega, Quest Celtaii, Vampire (Tyne and Wear and Liverpool)
I'm also a comic fan..gawd I'm an uber geek :)

Re: LARPERS confess here
Oh dear. This is all a bit deja vu. What faction are you in LT? Only it turned out that Dev and DH (and me when I turn up, mostly to drink beer and make clever remarks) were the same faction. It is a very small world and I suspect we may know you. Particularly with the Omega thing....
Also, what server are you on in WoW? Got any good twinks? Only DH has got some sort of Twink guild going for warsong gulch, should you be interested. I'm struggling a bit with WoW battlegrounds atm because of ghastly lag, I think this PC needs a rebuild but I have to wait for his maj to do that.
Er.... and what comics? I'm in the process of trying to rehouse DH's comic collection.
This is all too parallel universe for words.

Re: LARPERS confess here
Well I was a Hart for yonks, but most recently I've been Dragon-ing...it is a very small world. Yay to the beer and clever remarks, they and luvverly costume are my main reasons for larping :)
I'm on Moonglade server, but am such a girl when it comes to battlegrounds. I too suffer dreadfully with the lag (sounds almost gynaecological!) to the extent that Mr Elektra thinks I want extra ram for my birthday....Ha! What I actually want is a mulberry handbag.
Comics, lovely to read but a fecker to store..too heavy to go in the loft and too many to go on a bookcase.
Hmmm wonder if we know any of the same people, it's highly likely given the small nature of the larpy community?

Re: LARPERS confess here
Beer is always good. And singing. And costume, which I think is a bit of a girl thing. One of the reasons I don't do this any more is that I don't have time to make the sort of costume I like to wear - the last one was supposed to be made out of small leaves sewn together - I did cheat a bit but it was a lot of work. Most blokes think "costume" consists of wearing a different tabard over their armour.
Boo, however, to the abysmal acting and the acne-ridden youths who think that roleplaying consists of running around and shouting. (They are monsters.
You stand still, they come to you. What are they going to do, go home?) And the strange consensus by which we all pretend the world is actually going to end. Again. I have lost count of the times Ragnarok has been averted by some dubious plot-flange; surely if this really happened to you, you would believe you were invincible, or at least protected by fate? But no, Henny Penny, the sky is falling.
(Look at me! Look at me! Acting!)
On WoW we're mostly on Defias Brotherhood (RP PvP).
Comics - we've had the bed made higher and are storing them in those proper cardboard boxes under the bed. It's the overflow that's a problem. Am hoping that MIL never finds the boxes and boxes she lost in a house move.... I'm not desparately into comics myself, except Sam and Twitch and maybe pretty stuff like fathom.
I'm trying to think who I know/knew in the harts. DH's mob are all wolves (he was 1 IC at one point) and a nicer bunch of brainless thump-monkeys you couldn't wish to meet. In a nice way, of course. You might know some of them from Omega, though not likely to recognise them without the rat masks! I have to say, I hated, hated, LOATHED Omega, but that was largely on moral grounds because the whole "player-led" plot thing meant that it was possible to pay your money, go out looking for action and still have an unutterably dreary weekend, which seemed to me unjust and really just idleness on the part of the organisers. But I know the rat boys had a blast, as did many of the players they happened to. If they survived.....

Re: LARPERS confess here
Morning, am in labour so will be brief and my spelling may be crapper than normal..
I hereby demand an award for finishing a WOW instance last night despite my waters breaking part way through :) I am truly hardcore! Plus it really didn't hurt until 3:30am...
Hmm previous wolf 1 IC, post Dave Hale I presume? See I really don't know many wuluffs, as my character Prudence was always trying to start wars with them, ahh the joys of IC diplomacy :)
I am totally with you on the Omega thang, I presume your chaps were Torvak? As they are the only rat boys that spring to mind..
I played a PC from the city and then a wolfen, aka chick with stick (cause of my big spear don'tcha know?) But was completely disillusioned when I finally persuade Mr E to give it a whirl and the bloody world ends at his first event. Bah and humbug!
Right off to crank up my tens machine, see you later hopefully with a birth announcement

Elektra -
to you for WoWing through your stage 1. (I just wanted them to put me on the drugs from about a week before the birth.) Expect this to form a major part of your birth story when you post it!
Lol @ your DH turning up to Omega only to find the world ending. Don't you hate it when that happens?
Yep, our lot were the Torvak. "Who you? What you for? Got any shineys?" *splutch* You couldn't miss them, really, could you?
