    Gift help needed please!

In 2 weeks time we're going to a naming ceremony in the morning for a nearly one year old, then a marriage blessing in the afternoon (they were married a year ago). Separate sets of friends, so lots of dashing around.

I have absolutely no idea at all what to buy? In the past for Christenings I've given something silver like a tooth holder or piggy bank, but I'd love to give her something a bit different. Maybe a nice set of books . Haven't got a lot to spend, am thinking £10-£15?

As for the blessing, I'm completely stumped. Any ideas would be welcome.

    TIA

If the christening is for a girl then a lovely old-fashioned book of fairytales would be a nice gift, a hardback with nice illustrations etc. You could write a little message inside the cover. For a boy maybe a Dr Suess box set? Jake LOVES Dr seuss stories!

I don't know if you would be expected to bring a gift to a wedding blessing?? Presumably everyone gave them gifts when they had the actual wedding? If you want to take something I would keep it small like a picture frame or candlestick holders.

When Mr Gs neices were christened we bought them hardback collections of Beatrix Potter and Winnie the Pooh (maybe I couldn't swear on the second one )
