    Advise for my friend

My friend is having a lot of bad luck and upheaval at the moment and she's 5 months pregnant. The last few days she has had bad diarrea and hasnt felt her baby much. Should she see her doctor? She says she wont go because they will make her do a poo sample and she doesnt want to be a burden to anyone.

i think that maybe she should brave it and see a doctor or ring the NHS direct.

    Hi

She should really be checked over by her MW, especially if she's not felt her baby move as much. It may well be nothing to worry about, baby just may be in a position where she's not feeling it as much.

I suffered with bad tummy etc and never had to provide a sample, so I wouldn't have thought she would.

She's not being a burden to anyone, her baby's health is important, and after all, that's what they're there for!

She should call her MW and go to the hospital for assessment if she hasn't felt any movement. She won't be wasting anyone's time, when I did this they said I did the right thing by coming in. They woould rather she came in and was reassured. She MUST go as soon as possible.

Thank you. I think she is secretly worried that they might say there is something wrong with the baby.

And they WON'T make her do a poo sample unless they thing she has some sort of serious food poisoning and has to be hospitalised or something. They won't.

I went to the labour ward when I was about 5 months pg as I had not felt baby move as much as normal & they told me I had done the right thing.

They are there to help & make sure baby is ok. That is what they are there for...she would not be being a burden on anyone.

Hope your friend gets the re-assurance she needs.

Just to say as everyone above, she should get checked out ASAP just for her own peace of mind. I am sure they wont make her do a sample, its only a runny bum
Just give me a block, I'm gonna be fine..........
