Funded nursery places - how much £
How much does the government funded nursery places save you over the space of a year?
I know its 2.5 hrs x5 and term time only, but I keep going round in circles trying to work that out as £. This is a particular issue as our nursery doesn't charge by the hour, it charges by the half day, but a half day is longer than 2.5 hours
I'm just doing a few sums to see how much childcare will cost me if I go back to work full time (or how much I'll be saving if I don't
).
Thanks

Re: Funded nursery places - how much £
Well, they're in the process of upping it to 3hrs, so a bit more than it was
There was a thread about it last week sometime on Parenting Chat (is it called that? having a moment!
)...will see if I can find it
That had the actual amount the Govt provide, but that didn't match what I 'get', not sure why but hey....hang on a minute....
ETA here you go:
http://www.damsels.org/forum/showthread.php?t=109724 I had my nursery bill with me that day, but not today so easier to direct you to this thread than try and guess at how much it saves us

Re: Funded nursery places - how much £
Thanks. LOL, I'm still confused. I think I'll dig out her last bill & see if that has any more info about how much they charge on funded days.
I didn't realise they were upping it to 3 hrs. That's much better.
How many weeks are there in school term times over a year?
Thanks

Yeah, you stand more luck looking at your old bills, or contacting nursery and just asking them how it is worked out! I *think* there are around 30 weeks in a school year, something like that anyway (6 weeks summer, 2 weeks Easter, 2 weeks Christmas, 3 one-week half-terms, give or take
)

Our nursery reduce the fees by £125 a month. Term times are taken into account, so the fees are the same every month, iyswim...

Here it is just over £8 per session. DD goes to a private preschool so I have to pay towards the session as it is more expensive.

Re: Funded nursery places - how much £
Do be aware that not all nurseries/kindergartens accept funding. NONE of the private preschools here accept it
