Joules / Boden - what is the sizing like?
Doing a bit of 'missing my boy' shopping online and saw these two lovely tops which will go great over the navy/stone shorts I bought him with my 30% Gap voucher

This from Joules:

And this from Boden (think have a 15% code somewhere
)

What are the sizes like? Boden is 3-4 and then 5-6, which seems a bit
- what about 4-5?
Dan is quite tall, so wears age 4 bottoms at Gap and H&M, but 3-4 in tops...
But then I want them to last at least this summer and hopefully a bit of next...
Also anyone know if Joules ever have codes?

Re: Joules / Boden - what is the sizing like?
Joules sometimes email codes I think, but haven't had one lately.
Molly was 4 in December and quite tall. I bought her a load of tops then and they are all 5-6. They are slightly big but not huge and she should get a good while out of them.
People are always sayin Boden sizes big, but I never really find it so - maybe because I have tall kids
Those tops are

Re: Joules / Boden - what is the sizing like?
I think I have a 4 for 3 for boden somewhere.
the 3-4 only just fits Lucy who is 4.5 and the 5-6 is slightly large on her but my 5.5 Emily the 5-6 only just fits her. To add, Lucy is only a smidge smaller than Emily and Emily is quite petite for her age.

Joe has that red towelling hoodie!
I think their sizes are quite generous, but E and J aren't huge, as you know. Joe has it in 3-4, so it might not fit Dan for the next 2 summers.
Boden do have a good returns policy - usually free, and they re-credit your account quickly. If you're not in a huge rush to buy it you could always see it irl when we meet the week after next to check the sizing.
I HATE it when shops miss out a whole age range
, Fatface tend to do this too - no age 4-5 in some things.

Re: Joules / Boden - what is the sizing like?
I've found Joules sizing incredibly small. I ordered a coat for next winter for Dylan in the sale.... I think I ordered 8-9 years as he will be 8 next Jan and it only just fits him now. Everyone else from here who ordered found their stuff small too. Freddie has an age 5 t-shirt and he is 4 and it's very small on him.... I should have got him a 6.
I'd personally go for a 4-5 for your DS if they have one although the sizing doesn't necessarily follow with all their garments if they are made in different factories I suppose.

Re: Joules / Boden - what is the sizing like?
I've just got my (massive) Joules order
and I'd say the sizing is a little small. I've ordered a 5-6 for Lulah and I think it will be about right.
Adults sizes seem to be about right - I am a 14
bottom and a 12 (firm) top, which is probably about right for the moment....

boden have actual garment measurements on their site for individual items which I find very useful and I don't fit into any specific size bracket. I'm sure the kids stuff have the same information available too.

Free P&P on orders over £75 FPP228 (Joules).
Will look for more as I have some post here from them.
Just noticed if you go into store it says they give you free fabric patches and Joulsey "bits and bobs" to add some "billow to your pillow"....
I think it's too far for me to drive for some probably 1" square bits of fabric but if anyone ever picks any up and doesn't want them..... ahem!

Re: Joules / Boden - what is the sizing like?
I think with Boden it unfortunately totally depends on the item. They're obviously manufactured in different countries/factories and some things seem to come up big whereas others are bang on the button! Same with quality. Some stuff is excellent, other stuff is crap!
Not sure about Joules as I've never bought kids stuff from there but I've bought myself loads and they never ever have discount codes
Every now and again they have a free P&P - sometimes with free returns, others just free P&P (and so you have to pay with returns which frankly puts me RIGHT off!)
I tend to wait until I go to their shop tbh!
I'm going to get Little M the Elephant polo shirts this year
Even though they'll be like dresses on him

Just remembered there is one in Marlborough so I will pop in there on my way back to mum's (again!) on Wednesday and hopefully they will have them in stock.

Actually one of the housey shops in my town have just started stocking some Joules stuff as well
. Not this particular top though and none of the fancy grown up stuff, more the polos, etc.
