. This is no fun at the moment NRR

I'm really struggling to see the good side of Conor at the moment. He just seems to raging against everything.

He tantrums over nothing- one minute everything is fine, the next he's dropped to the floor screaming. And whereas in the past I can see whats triggered it, I can't now. It's several times a day and I've no idea why.

Then there's the rejection of anything done for him, even if he asked for it. He'll ask for eg a biscuit, I'll give him a biscuit, he'll throw it on the floor and either tantrum or just look at me as if to say 'Come on then, bring it on' I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't because whether I give him what he asks for or not I get a tantrum.

And finally there's the total defiance, he refuses to do anything I ask. This has progressed from turning away and shaking his head to staring me dead in the face and saying 'no'. And this is the one that really makes me lose my temper. Because we then have to go through the whole fecking naughty step thing, and he will not apologise so he goes back on it and this can happen several times over and there simply is not enough time in the day for this. Usually I just give up, grab him and make him do what needs to be done. Which is not the best way to handle things, it just creates more anger and tension.

He just winges and grizzles and moans and cries at EVERYTHING. Whay can he not just be happy? It's completely exhausting and I hate to say but I'm glad I'm going back to work tomorrow so I can have 7 hours away from Mr Miseryguts.

I'm having this too at the moment. At the moment I cope by walking away most of the time, and picking the battles that are important.

Other than that, I have a pillow that I scream into!

Must be an age thing, I agree. OH is away this weekend and I have almost committed toddler-icide this morning. The neighbours must think all I do is shout at the child, but sometimes he gets into these obnoxious-naughty moods, and is so defiant and annoying. He is waking in the night at the mo too, so we are all knackered to boot.

I have no idea how I am going to cope with being at home with him and a baby. Thank goodness he'll be in nursery 2 days a week.

Oh good, not just me then!

I did actually say to him before 'why can you not just be happy, it must be so dull being so miserable all the time?'
