I purposely went for the most STURDY looking shoe I could find, £35 from Brantano, really hardwearing looking leather, not soft or squishy, a big thick chunky sole that didn't look like it would wear down like the Clarks one did in about 2wks  and best of all they were a perfect fit for her very narrow feet.

This is what they looked like after the 1st day...

To be fair, its not Lucy's fault, she trips up, a lot, and I do EXPECT her shoes to get ruined very quickly, but she's now worn them for 3 days in total Thurs, Mon and Tue and now the front of the sole is hanging off, the flowers stitching is all undone and the fronts are completely trashed.

I expect scuffing etc, but surely they should last more than 3 days  Do you think they'll give me my money back or do you think they'll just say its her fault for scuffing them so much ??

She's had to go in her PE Pumps today  which isn't great as its raining  but she's got nothing else suitable for School. My plan was to take her straight to JL later and get her some Startrite but thats going to cost me another £35-40 :sigh:

I liked this - #11 made me laugh!

And I agree 100%.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it! Rule 2: The world doesn't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself. Rule 3: You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out of high school. You won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both. Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss. Rule 5: Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping: they called it opportunity. Rule 6: If you mess up, it's not your parents' fault, so don't whine about your mistakes, learn from them. Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent's generation, try delousing the closet in your own room. Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they'll give you as MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. This doesn't bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life. Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time. Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life people actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs. Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

I'm 21 weeks pregnant with 3rd child and last 3-4 weeks have got worse and worse with getting up to wee once i'm in bed. I normally read for about an hour in bed and in that time visit the bathroom 2-3 times, then another 3-4 times before I can get to sleep, wake in the night at least once and then really, really need the bathroom when I wake in the morning. Often it's only a really tiny amount just feel I have to go, if I don't go I don't wet myself or anything it just bothers me so I can't sleep. In the day it's pretty much normal only happens at night.
My friend reckons because it's my 3rd baby everything is kinda messed up and this is why I'm having these issues and that its normal, with my first two I probably woke in the night to wee but only at say 7 months plus.
Had a urine test for UTIs which was negative and the midwife just sighed and said it was something pregnant women had to put up with. It just seems really, really excessive to get up 8-10 times a night! So does this sound normal or could there be something wrong?

Bizarre stuff :scratchchin:
DH, myself and our 14 year old son are all wandering around with tingling :lips: wondering what on earth is in it to have the effect it does. Wasp sting? Chillies? Nettles? :teehee:
