DH had a job interview today in the school he's been doing supply for for this last few weeks. He loves the school (which is a miracle in itself) and they and the pupils love him. They urged him to apply for the job, and only put the ad up for a few days because they basically just wanted him.

As soon as the interview had finished they tried to negotiate with the supply agency for him to be released from them. They said they wanted nearly £8000 for him and refused to negotiate at all. The school have around 30 other teachers there through this agency so can't just go against the contract with them, and can't afford to spend that much money for the agencies "introduction fee" for DH.

So they had to offer the job to the other candidate. :cry:

What really takes the piss is that the school pays the agency around £1000 a week for DH, but he only receives £92 a day off them. They refuse to pay he what he deserves (as a first year teacher he should be on £110 a day minimum). So basically they don't want to lose their lovely little earner!!

He could get a job anywhere else ad they couldn't do this. Just because they introduced him. With his bipolar though it makes it so hard for him. He's already lost his first teaching job he started in September because of his bipolar and ending up very depressed in a school he didn't like.

It's so unfair and I'm crying again now. :cry:

DD1 has been doing KS1 tests for the past couple of weeks, the last ones were last week.

Today she said that she had to go and another writing test, but noone else in the class did this. She hasn't missed any of the previous tests so why would they make her do another, she said it was different to the last one. Very strange!

Well we had a few outdoor things planned, but I'm not sure we'll be doing them now :rain: :cold: :rolleyes:

So maybe it will be more like cooking and watching films! :sofa:

Elena is generally a bright & positive girl, but is increasingly struggling with her self-confidence. I just received a call from the visiting school nurse. She says Elena made a confidential appointment with her to discuss issues she's having. These relate to her tripping/falling/twisting her ankle a lot and also her spelling issues. I didn't realise, but the nurse says they could well be related. She says she'll continue to see her as she is concerned she may have dyspraxia and possibly dyslexia (which often go together she says) and that this is seriously affecting her confidence. Now we know about the spelling issues as I've been trying to get her extra help all year (lack of resources has meant she has had nothing more than a few spelling tests & I've been given some of the sounds she struggles with, but no constructive help). Now I've looked up dyslexia and dyspraxia I can't work out how the school could have missed it :doh:. OK, I think they're mild (and I also suspect I was the same at that age), but letter confusion (b, d, s, 5), very poor spelling, inability to sit still, clumsiness/balance, problems holding a pencil or cutlery correctly etc are all issues for her.

I'm really struggling for an idea for my dads fathers day present, he has everything, is very picky, isn't in to anything easy and fathers day falls when he is away travelling for a month so either has to be small/light or he'll have to wait until he comes home :lol:

Its been a busy three years, we've relocated twice, moved house a further twice, swapped jobs many times and acquired three kids, a dog and a hamster!

I'm hoping the next ten years are just as good, but maybe a little more settled!
