Hi Guys

Bad news - I've got pre eclampsia and may be admitted to hosp tomorrow, tho hopefully not. Baby likely to be induced in the next 1-3 weeks.

Can anyone share their experiences of it with me? When I google I find lots of scary stuff too - anyone with reasonably positive experiences as I felt kind of crushed when finding out today.

On the plus side, mat leave have started 3.5 days early, but not in the way I'd like it to! I'd rather be healthy for me and baby!

TIA x

I had this with DS and had to be induced but everything turned out alright. It was scary while it was happening - but the staff monitored everything very closely and he was born safely at 37.5 weeks with no further complications. I was sent to the hospital on the Friday as my blood pressure had suddenly shot up -there had been protein in my urine from day 1. they tries several things to see if they could stabilise things, but eventually decided on induction on the Sunday.

lots of luck and best wishes :flowers:

Hey MrsFlowers...no experience, but not very nice for you to hear that :higgies:

I hope it all goes ok, and I think it's great they've noticed it and are going to keep an eye on you...you'll actually get to meet your LO very soon!!

Oh my friend had this and had was induced 3 weeks early. All absolutely fine - I think now they've caught it they can manage it so you will be fine! I can understand your worries though, I'd be the same. Good luck and look forward to reading your birth announcement :higgies:

Thanks peeps - have just noticed Lucypede's thread which she started a while back and asks exactly my question. I must pay more attention! Off to read it now. Thanks for the moral support. I'm glad to hear of some positive experiences here - I'm thinking from my resulst I've not got it too bad compared to some (140/100 BP and +1 or +2 protein).

Thanks again! Monitoring today showed things a lot better than they were so hopefully I can hang onto baby a while longer if I rest!

Oh, that's a nuisance but it's obviously good that the doctors have cottoned on to it and can monitor you for safety's sake.

You may jump to the head of the February Mummies' queue!

Glad to hear things are better today, please don't worry because you are now 35 weeks which is great. I got it at 32 weeks and I was put on some meds to reduce my bp and was on bed rest. Tyler was born naturally at 36+5 at a great 6lbs 3oz and perfect!

I was induced at 37+4 and had a healthy baby with no complications!!

Hope everything goes ok for you.
