Ho hum! Isn't it always the way - wait an hour for a bus then three come along at once?

Anyway - its not busses but swimming lessons and I don't know what to do.

We've had Kyle's name down for eons on two differnt waiting list for swimming lessons and eventually he reached the top of one and has had a block of eight lessons, now he's reached the top of the other and has been offered a block of 10 lessons and I don't know what to do!!!

Option one - Wednesday night 6.30pm, 1/2 hour, 10 lessons. This is in the same pool and with the same teacher he had previously. However when these lessons finish he goes back to the bottom of the waiting list as you only get two blocks.

Option Two - Saturday Morning 10.30am, 1/2 hour, 10 lessons. This seems to be more of a structured swimming programme and he could move up through the levels. The programme follows the "Bank of Scotland" National Learn to Swim Syllabus supported by the National Governing Body for Swimming in Scotland.

Help! I don't know what to do for the best. At the moment I'm seriously considering enroling him for both - is that mad? pushy? OTT? (allowed?)

Noo Noo Option 2 seems the best bet to me, easier to get to I should imagine as they are on Saturday rather than a weeknight and he will be fresh rather than tired from a day at school. As you have said they also seem more structured and it should be easier for him to move through the ranks.

I personally would not take both as there is a national shortage of places on swimming courses and you passing up on one of your options will give another child an earlier chance to take this place.

Whatever you choose to do hope Kyle enjoys his lessons :)

Always the way isn't it! I've put DD's name down for lessons but it could take a year for her to get a place.

Which option is for the block of 8? You've put 10 for both options but mentioned that one was for a block of 8  I think i'd go for option 2 aswell - I had Ryan in lessons last year but couldn't make the next block of lessons (clashed with toddler group though I wish i'd opted for the lessons now  ) and i'm still on the waiting list for another block. If you could take option 2 and have 'continuous' lessons then that'd probably be better than waiting till he got to the top of the waiting list again. He might forget a bit or loose confidence if he has a long wait between blocks.

Hi Noo Noo

Option 2 sounds the better one to me, also think he would be better of a Saturday morning, not as tired after a full day.
