DH & I are hoping to go away for 2 weeks in early September, but no idea where........basically its got to be hot and got to have golf (for DH  )
Any suggestions?
I'm not that keen on France, as we went there last Sept and we had horrendous thunderstorms and flooding - not good on hols :happyno:
Thanks

Have you looked at Portugal? Should be warm and The Algarve is very popular with golfers.

Can highly recommend here in Spain:
www.sanroqueclub.com (http://www.sanroqueclub.com/)
You can get flights to Geneva - 20 min drive from there.
If you fancied going further afield and splashing a bit of cash before bubs comes, I can HIGHLY recommend Le Prince Maurice in Mauritius (free golf!!) Or there is their sister hotel Le Belle Mare Plage which is miles cheaper and also has free golf. Both are lovely lovely hotels. And Mauritius is lovely in early September. I think it would be a great idea to have one last luscious holiday before bubs arrives (believe me, they will be a dim and distant memory soon  )

Cyprus or the Canaries are still warm at that time of year. :sunshine:
So is Malta. :sun:
Oops, just re-read your message and saw the golf ..... La Manga resort in Spain maybe?

I've posted about this place before but DH and I went in October and the weather was fab. Apparently a lovely golf course, it's neara World Heritage site which was one of the nicestplaces I've been and 30km from Lisbon which is a great city.

oooh yes I would definitely consider that place that kate mentioned. I've looked at that a number of times (but it's not the most child friendly  )
Would definitely definitely have considered it v seriously had it just been DH and me.
Looks LOVELY and I'd love to go to Lisbon.

Yip, we were in Cannes also, was so :hissyfit: about the weather!!!! So really don't want to risk the same again!!
Kat - i'd love to go to mauritius, but i'm really not sure the budget will stretch that far........hmmmmm!!
Do you guys really think portugal will be hot enough?? I'd have thought that portugal maybe a bit mixed in Sept?

Calgal - I took jeans and cardigans/long sleeved tops to Portugal in October (late Oct at that). I found myself sitting on the steps of some palace taking my boots off and rolling my jeans up a bit :laff: it was like a hot summer's day in Britain.
OK then, not as warm as today but definitely 75-80 degrees. Don't know if that's unseasonal - only been to Portugal once.

I don't want to promise something that might not happen, but my friend spends a good three months every year i Portugal and she tells me September is perfect weather in terms of sunnyness but not excessive heat.

Nothing to add to this thread, just being nosey because i'm looking for somewhere to go in Sept / Oct (minus the golf course!) that will still be nice and warm - had been looking at Portugal so its nice to know some of you have had good weather there at that time of year

Another vote for Portugal I'm afraid !!!!! Weather would be as someone said - just nice and not excessively warm.
And if you need a golf instructor I know someone out there who does this. Very nice man! And if staying near Montechoro / Albufeira can recommend many bars with friendly faces!!
Dont know how expensive it is, but my dad (who goes on many freebie golfing trips due to his job) loves La Manga, Spain

Portugal is supposed to be lovely. If you want to go further afield how about Mexico or the Carribean. We are going here in the autumn and are really looking forward to it. Its the golf and a spa too if you want a bit of pampering.

We went to Portugal in September and stayed at Le Meridien Penina which was absolutley gorgeous set on a Championship course. The weather was a bit temperamental but I think we may have been a bit unlucky.
Tenerife would be good too around Golf Del Sur - weather should good.
Spain could be a good shout around the Mijas area.
As you can tell, I'm a golf widow and all our holidays have to be near or on a golf course!
Let us know where you choose to go.

Tunisia is lovely in early September, lots of golf to be had, especially in Port El Kantaoui, which is a great resort.
