I've just had a major chomping of some ivy (hate it with a passion) and wonder if I can put the clippings on my compost heap, or if the flipping things will root.

I'm thinking it's not a good idea  but just wondering!

Thanks

Minky

Hi Minky

I'd say no, because the bloody stuff will probably take root and grow into a giant beanstalk!!

I hate. hate, hate Ivy we've been chopping the stuff down from our house and garden fence all week, we've poured every available poisonous substance we can find on it and it's still laughing at us :hissyfit:

I'd say burn it!! :bwahaha:

Minky, we have a green bin from the council for garden waste recycling and we gave ours to them

BrokenFairy, we had the stuff growing all up 2 walls and chopped ours off about 12" above the ground, ripped it all off the walls and left the bit in the ground to dry up and die before taking it out. You can pour lots of salt onto the cut edge which helps, too
