View Full Version : Does anyone else do this or am I just incredibly weird?

Whenever ds is sick I know what's wrong with him (I even used to before he could talk) because I have exactly the same symptoms just before he does... For example when he was teething my teeth used to ache like mad, when he first got reflux I got terrible heartburn etc.

Last night we ended up in emergency because he woke up at midnight in a lot of pain and his chest hurt. From about 9pm I'd had the same pain... Once his problem is diagnosed my pain tends to go away.

Something that's a real pain is that children have faster heartbeats than adults and my heartbeat has adjusted to ds's which means I have to take beta-blockers to slow it down  :-(

Does anyone else have this or am I just a bit odd?  8)

I'm sure odd's not the right word, but wow, how strange.

I've heard of this sort of thing with twins, but never mums and children, though it stands to reason doesn't it.

Never happened to me though.

Like AA said not sure odd is the correct word, but it is certainly very strange and in a way lovely, by that I mean you are obviously very much in tune with your ds and share a very unique bond.

Not odd at all but just lovely, it shows how close you are to your little one :) :)

I think I am at least slightly psychic (that's psychic; not psychotic, although I'm probably a bit that too). But I was rather hoping other mummies would say that they experience the same thing (in the same way that twins often do) because I'm beginning to feel a bit unhinged  :laff: :laff: Plus it's a pain in the :spank: being ill for two people

My Mum says she felt the same for me when I was little. :) It did lessen as I got older and I don't think she feels it at all now, despite the fact that we are still quite close. (Good job too as I've been through childbirth! )

I don't think it's odd at all, I think it's a lovely bond between parent & child like an unseen or imaginery umbilical cord iyswim!

Oh thanks Inks - you reassure me if your mother felt it too - my husband always looks at me as if I'm absolutely  :zombie: :ellie: :nellie:
