 Oh, wish mine was here!!!!
MF
I never get the catalogue myself (too tight to pay for it  ) but my SIL does, so I always enjoy having a good old nosey through when I go round there. Are there loads of nice bits and pieces?

I haven't got mine yet either. I wonder whether I will - they didn't send me a Summer brochure this year and I never got round to giving them an ear bashing about it.
So does anyone know when the sale starts yet? My neighbour works at Next, I'll try to remember to ask her when I see her next.....
MINES NOT HERE !!!!!! (is there a mad stompy feet smiley?)
Its so unfair !! I want mine ! I want mine NOW !! :teehee:

I should cancel mine, I never read the bloody thing, I order online instead. If I thought of all the £3.50's I've wasted I'd get quite cross.
Diddlum I think I read somewhere that it starts on the 22nd which is this Saturday

Yes dids it starts this saturday the 22nd! The store near me is opening at 5am:shock:
I am 99% wanting to go prob about 7ish but the sensible 1% of me says I shouldn't cause my Next card is already sky high!!!! (Hey maybe thats why I got the catalogue before all you?! - cause I keep next in business?? )

  Thanks to this thread I've just managed to spend £278.00 "getting the children's winter clothes in before they all sell out"
Eta I've not had my new catalogue yet either (unless my OH got to it first and binned it :scratchchin:)

MsNat thats a good idea, even though you have spent lots as Next always sell out quickly!
I am going to the store tomorrow to get some summer stuff before the Next sale starts as I hate the Next sale and it will all be full of complete crap.
I'm far too tight to pay for one! :laff: but got given one a month or so ago which I have repeatedly devoured!
Will look online soon, but sadly not in the mood for shopping right now (though sure that will change soon).

I got mine lasy weekend and have just signed up for my preview sale slot on Thursday - must not spend much......

How do you get a slot?
Joanna, they normally e-mail or phone you a week or so before with a code and a timeslot.
However, last time they didn't contact us and my OH phoned to complain and they gave hime a £20.00 voucher as an apology.
So give them a call, it's worth it :thumb:

I got my email today to sign up. You then decide which slot you want and then get sent the code. You have a 30 minute window to sign in and can then spend as much time as you like browsing and buying. Last time I totally forgot and missed my window!!

 OHMYGOD HOW many children do you have???!!!!!!!! Please tell me that will clothe (sp?) them till they're all 12 or something. I am utterly gobsmacked that someone can spend that much in NEXT!!!!!! :faint: VERY impressive shopping!!!!!!! (ay carumba and I thought I spent a lot on Hettie's clothes - I am positively restrained it seems!!!!

 OHMYGOD HOW many children do you have???!!!!!!!!
 Two
A two and a half year old girl and an eight month old boy.
I must have a problem as I don't actually think that it's that much really. With the children I tend to do two or three huge shopping sprees throughout the year. So it's not like I'm spending that all the time.
(Although I have also just spent £200 with vertbaudet  )
I haven't had a call either Joanna, last sale they asked me if I wanted a preview and a call before the sale started to place my order to which I said yes but they never called!
I really resent being billed the £3.50 or whatnot for the catalogue if I don't spend anything - it's happened a few times, and once I forgot to pay it and ended up with something funny on my credit rating for it. I was a bit grrr about that and tried cancelling the directories, but they kept on coming and I kept being billed for them. Which made me even more GRRRR.
Despite this, I would rather like one. If it were free and if I wasn't so grrr. It just ain't the same browsing online is it?

A girl after my own heart, I likey spending    TO be honest I bet £278 does not go that far really!!! When you start to add it all up!
I have got my slot for tomorrow for the sale but am going to have to try and reign myself in, my card is already too high

Just finally had a look through mine and think Holly will be getting a new outfit for every hour of the day as there are some gorgeous bits in there esp in the under 1's. Luckily she is on the small side so we just creep into the 9-12 months bit! :ellie:
May order some bits now and also have the sale to buy at on sat!

I now have both my La Redoute and Next catalogues. I found them both really disappointing. Apart from underwear (I like buying underwear ) nothing was "shouting" at me to order it. A few bits for my sons, and there was a lamp in the Next Directory I liked, but that's it.
V v v v disappointed :-(

Those daft models grinning back at me don't help:wink:

Oooo mine was delivered tonight :ellie:
Will sit back and read it tonight x
Well my stuff arrived and I have to say that more than half of it has gone back. Poor quality, bizarre sizing, I'm not impressed at all.
The stuff I ordered from Vertbaudet on the other hand, is gorgeous. I'm really pleased with it :thumb:

I'm sending a fair bit of the sale stuff back too MsNat. Some of the sizing is weird, I agree.

I think the stuff in the Next A/W catalogue is very samey. In fact, Next is becoming very samey - all the seasons are a variation on a theme.
Still buy stuff there though - I think the kids stuff in particular is very hard wearing.

23-07-2006, 09:26pm
My friend who used to work in Next told me that the best seller items get revamped slightly every season, and some things even carry over, so it does feel as though you've seen everything before!

Yes I think they've become a bit complacent because they've been so popular over the years. They ought to try a bit harder really or they'll end up like M&S did.
I love the kids stuff too, and it always washes well. Sizing's a bit funny though.:puzzled: Mind you, the sizing's funny for the adult stuff too!
*kate*
23-07-2006, 09:46pm
Funnily enough, I'm the only person I know who can buy their size in Next for it to fit perfectly :puzzled:
All of my friends complain about the sizing but I can buy a size 12 in the knowledge it'll fit properly. Perhaps I'm an odd shape?
The kids stuff is enormous though, my 7yr old still fits into 5yr old trousers, and the bodies of sweatshirts are massive but the arms are short, which is annoying.

Mrs Nat & AA i too find that alot of the next stuff sizing is weird, kiddies clothes see, to be fine but adults arent

*kate* are you me! Next jeans fit me like they were made for me (we must be the same shape - I'm a 12, 5' 2", a bit pear shaped??)
I think children's clothes are really hit and miss everywhere - M&S in particular is enormous, Next a bit less so, though still big. I've kind of got used to it now!
There is a lot in the Directory that has given me deja vue!!!
