I thought this might be about sweaty men :teehee:
Actually I would like to know the answer, I quite fancy getting some of those knobbly things

I've got some.
TBH I'm not sure they really work, although not tried without. The dryer not getting much use atm. Too hot!
They definately don't get the clothes as soft as dryer sheets though.

I've got these, I *think* they speed up the drying time a bit too, that's as long as my son hasn't run off with them when I need them
I've heard that two tennis balls work just as well

Never heard of them! What are they, something you put in the tumble dryer or something that can be used on the radiators

I have some now - they are knobbly balls :teehee: that you put in the tumble drier. They stop the fabric going stiff as it dries and supposedly cut down drying time. They say you don't need fabric softener with them, and my towels are fluffier.

I noticed these recently - maybe in Woolies or somewhere similar? Might give it a shot, I use my drier quite a lot.

Whatever you do, make sure your LO doesn't find them and play with them - I've lost one now
Has anyone noticed- do they help prevent wrinkles ? I hate ironing.
They do help prevent wrinkles but you have to be careful not to put too much stuff in so the balls can circulate.

I was dubious as I thought the fabric might take a beating and get too worn too quickly:scratchchin:

Do they help speed up drying time? I was thinking about getting some to help me use my tumble dryer for shorter times

I have some, they seem OK. I also have the ball that you put in instead of washing powder, gets the clothes clean :thumb:

They had an ad for these playing in Woolies today on one of those 'JML' type tv things but they didn't actually have any in stock :loco: I was quite interested though.

Thanks Chell ;-)
Eco balls are used in the washer instead of powder and conditioner. I bought mine 4 years ago for economic reasons - 4 children, lots of laundry, a fortune in washing powder.
They are also a very eco friendly option but like a lot of things eco friendly they do require a little bit more attention. they work as well as non bio washing powder, they don't contain bleach or enzymes and phosphates so no bleaching your clothes white - no bleaching out stains but they don't bleach the colours either.
YOu will need to use stain remover - a tube of stain remover is enclosed in the box but ecover works well whent his has been used and thats the extra bit of attention required.
To counteract that you never need to wash out a mouldy sopaed up powder drawer ever again.
You also save a fortune. You can only use them up to 60% and they mustn't go into the dryer. I use soapnuts on hot washes and on whites.
They are fantastic for dark washes, bed linen and blankets, washing smells of nothing but smells fresh enough, you do not need fabric conditioner, you can add a few drops of essential oil to the rinse drawer if you like, i use lemon.
You don't really need the dryer balls to aid softeness if you have eco balls BUT the dryer balls do reduce dryer time thus saving you even more money.
Be prepared to have a few stains with eco balls but youd have exactly the same stains if you used non bio - i have never had to throw any clothes away and stains have come out eventaully - carrort puree, blackcurrant, coffee, all came out with the stain remover.
Even if you used them for your dark washes the money you would save is tremendous, and the fewer chemicals that you wash down the drain the better.
I had my eco balls before i opened Summer Naturals.
