I've been thinking I want something else in my life at the moment. I'm not sure what though.
Don't get me wrong I love being a mummy and love spending time with him, but I feel like I need something more. I miss seeing my friends at work and adult company, but do not miss the work one little bit. I see my other mummy friends quite a lot and go to groups with Jacob, but there are days when there is just the two of us.
I would love to be a SAHM, but feel I need something else. I feel like I need a project or something to keep me sane. I'm not planning on going back to work till at least february and even then only for a bit so I don't lose my mat pay.
So what can I do, that fits around a baby, might make me a bit of money, possibly creative, but unsure on this one. Could lead to a new career.

Sorry, I'm not making much sense am I   Just rambling now, as you may gather I don't really know what I want. Sorry, I'll go now

You could do some sort of party planning you know like bodyshop, virgin Vie etc
Making and selling something . Random thoughts homemade cards etc on ebay or Damsells but that wont help you meet anyone.
You could always do some volunteer work :scratchchin:

Or how about doing a part time course . They do these at my local adult education center . Try your local council website. I have done a dressmaking one and they are pretty good. There was a huge variety of ones I'd love to do cake decorating, curtain making , photography etc . I am planning on doing a few in the coming years . ( I work shifts atm so is too difficult )
You would then meet people and get a new skill which could lead to making money eventually:smile:

BTW in my area they start in sepetember so get your name done fast if you want to do this.

If you can find a craft market with a spare pitch you could make up cross-stitch cards, pin-cushions, jewellery box lids etc. You could take your little man with you, so no need for a baby-sitter (unless you want to of course). I would deffo buy something!

I think a part-time course is a good idea too, personally when I next go on mat leve (need to get pg first of course!) I am giong to do a book-keeping one. Not everyon'e cup of tea mind but I am a TOTAL numbers geek and fancy freelancing in future years.

Not very creative I realise, but in m, local council's brochure they had heaps of far more creative/leisure type ones. I always fancied dressmaking. Or how about cookery or something?

I think if you're at home long term you do need to have something to do that's 'yours' and a bit more grown up than nappies and baby books

Depending how things go I'm thinking of either doing a course of something at the local college or if I'm feeling particularly up for a challenge I might do an MSc module or two with the OU to stop my brain mouldering away. Though it might be too late for that already!
