Sometimes I forget to clean Grace's teeth
Sometimes I just give her face a wipe over with a baby wipe before bed if she hasn't had a bath....
Anyone else got anything to confess or are you the perfect mama :wik:
noo noo

Well everyone already knows that I leave them in the bath on their own, don't use reins and let Iona come up AND down the stairs on her own so I'm sure the rest of my misdemeanours fade into insignificance in comparison to those  :wik:

I give him sweets even when I said he is not allowed any, just to keep him quiet
I let him plug the computer in and unplug it, saves me a job. :wik:
Forget to wash his hands after he has been sticking them in the dogs water
Probably hell of a lot more.

Also forget to clean her teeth (daddy is very good at doing this  )
Let her play with the cats food, its OK she does not eat too much :laff:
Encourage her to watch TV whilst I unload the dishwasher, or else she will insist on helping..
Errmmmm probably loads more but dont want to totally   myself!!

i routinely let splashy eat his meals sitting on my lap whilst playing with a toy, or let him run round the room and come back for each mouthful :laff:
oh and run around the bedroom with a toothbrush in his mouth which causes me great  (imagine if he fell whilst doing that....)
but other than that i'm perfect
obviously.....

Oooooooooh LOADS of stuff
Like BB i let her walk round when she is brushing her teeth, i do "supervise" her though :wik:
I sometimes forget to brush her teeth.
Sometimes to save the hoohaar of having to clean the highchair after she has had her dinner i let her eat off a tray on her lap on the sofa in front of the tv     Its easier to just wipe the leather sofa clean :laff:
I give her chocolate buttons if she is embarassing us whilst we're out because they're the only things to keep her quiet
I let her play with the cat and stroke him but don't wipe or wash her hands afterwards
I let her retrieve cheerios out of her toybox and eat them!

Bisy, my dd never seems to sit still for meals either and I don't bother to try and change her.
If I want to eat a packet of crisps, I place 4 around the room and pretend it's a treasure hunt. By the time dd finds and eats them all, I get to have the rest of the packet to myself. :)

PMSL Silverpod, what a fantastic idea
I don't always wash her hands before eating, especially if she's just been crawling around the house and has "safe germs". She has exzema (sp?) and I need to wash them when she's done eating, so I think that's just too much washing for her poor skin.
I never wash her hands after she's pet the dogs (they're clean, though).
I never sterilized her bottles.
edited for poor grammar.

Like Noo Noo, I let Eilis climb up and down the stairs on her own. She's been doing it for months!
Have been known to use choc buttons as bribery to keep her quiet (preferably the white ones as they're less messy).

If I brush the cat I give her the fluff to carry to the bin... and forget to wash her hands after that or being in the garden etc etc.
I eat nice things when she is asleep that I don't want to have to share
And I always bang her knees when trying to squeeze her into small highchairs when out and about, as I can't be bothered taking her boots on and off all the time...

Jen has Medised nearly every night  Whenever I try a night without it, she ALWAYS wakes up an hour after going to bed, knawing her hand to the bone with teething, so I give in. :spank: I feel terrible for it, but also don't want to be up & down all night
Occasionally she sleeps without it until about Midnight, but then she will wake every half hour & even medicine won't help her get back to sleep then. I am then faced with no sleep until 4am sometimes, so I have to admit then when I am knackered I give it to her to pre-empt the restless night, even though she may not be showing signs of teething  :sigh:

I have recently been giving Medised or Calpol virtually every night too.
I NEVER wash her hands after she's been stroking the cat - not that I forget, it would never even occur to me to do that?!?!?! I'd be washing her blummin hands every 10 mins!
I hardly ever brush her teeth (she's only got two and a bit but I know they should be brushed anyway).
I trapped her fingers in a highchair tray at the Co-op in Derby today. She didn't appear to notice though!
I let her climb the stairs on her own.
I let her play on her own in the living room while I'm in the kitchen doing something (not much to harm her in there though!)

I forget to clean his teeth, never wash his hands after playing with the cat or before giving him something to eat, even though hes been crawling about all day, he eats stuff off the ground (but only in the house) about three times i havent waited long enough after having a drink and have bf him and his poos were runny for two days after, hmmm...theres still more!
  :-(
I put Thomas in front of a baby einstein dvd when I want to tidy up or have a bit of something to eat and a drink (on repeat play  )
Me too - but I stopped feeling guilty about this a while ago. He loves it - starts smiling when the catapillar thing comes on at the beginning. My little man is only 6 months - so not too much to confess just yet.....give me a few more months :laff: My DH has ideas of perfection, so any bad mummy things will have to be concealed from him :wik:

I used to give J an empty bag of crisps filled with dry cornflakes. I would then eat real crisps and he'd eat cornflakes!. But then he ate real crsips at a party and now he knows the truth, so i have to share :-(
J has managed alone on the stairs for ages. He fell down them once, but takes more care now
I always brush J's teeth................ but sometimes let him eat afterwards if I am dealing with L and want to 'get rid' of him for 10 mins
Oh, and I often leave him eating in the kitchen to go for a wee, get the baby, answer the door etc.
I hide from j when b/feeding L at weekends so DH has to deal with him. I crawl into bed with the baby and shut the door. Tight.!
And nappy free time................ dont nother with either boy, too much clearing up
Sure there is more.................

 So does Jen! Well Grace will be alright when she comes to stay then- we can all drug our children so we can go play downstairs!!!
Erm, what do I do, let me think..........
Don't brush Dixie's teeth in the morning - I do them in the bathj at night, but then she has her bottle afterwards so probably defeating the object!
Give her tastes of whatever we're eating, so today that was some of Rob's creme egg and 'flaming hot' monster munch.
Often leave her playing in the front room while I'm doing stuff in the kitchen, although I don't think that's a bad thing really.
Oh and the worst thing lately is that I haven't got safety catches of any of the drawers, and so she quite often shuts her fingers in them. My theory is that if I childproof absolutely everything, she'll never learn what not to touch!!!

She has quavers/wotsits about once/week.
Like BJMac I only brush her teeth at night in the bath and then she has her milk.
She still has milk in a bottle

Snap (and btw they do learn a) not to go in the cupboards and drawers if there's nothing exciting in them and you shout enough!! b) therefore stop hurting themselves :wik:
Hettie also still has her milk in a bottle (and will do till she's 5 no doubt
We bribe Hettie with a dummy to be quiet when needed
She NEVER eats in a highchair at home - on the sofa "picnic stylee"
I let her play with all my glass perfume bottles and my makeup
I bought her her own toy make up set the other day
When we're at home, the tv is on all the time
She only has a bath twice a week (as I'm too knackered at the moment to give her more  )
We put ketchup on her food if she won't eat it (ie frequently) Sod it - it works!!!
eta - she's been to McDonald's a number of times - and will only eat the chips! (don't blame her - they are scrummy, plus it means that mummy can eat her chicken nuggets!)
mmm sure there are loads more...........
OOOH feel so much better after that - this is like therapy after feeling like Cruella De Ville with my NCT crowd!

Let it all out Katkinn, cleanse your soul :laff:
Oh good, I'm glad that they DO learn re drawers and cupboards in the end, because everyone keeps saying "she won't learn you know, she'll keep doing it".
I also let Dixie play with my make up brushes etc which always end up in her mouth and are no doubt full of germs and bacteria as I don't wash them half as much as I should.
Oh and she often gets cheesy beans or toast for dinner if I can't be arsed walking to the freezer in the garage to get her some food out.

Ummmmm
dont always clean alfies teeth
Dont always wash his face after he has had a bath if he has eaten something
Let him have a mcdonalds
He eats crisps and sweets
He climbs up and down the stairs without us watching him but he is so good at it now he flys up and down them
Ive no saftey clips on cupboards or draws so alfie gets into alot of them and pulls the stuff out occasionally trapping his fingers
He plays with my makeup and the brushs go in his mouth
Sure there are more
 Fantastic! I love you all, this has made me feel so much better!
Isobel has Medised on a regular basis as well.
I sometimes leave Cbeebies on all day
Let her wear lip gloss - she is obsessed with my make up box
and nothing makes her happier!
Has been to MacDonalds a few times and LOVES it
Gets left eating alone while I go to the loo etc..
I threaten her with the hair dryer to make her behave.
I'm sure there are hundreds more, I'm coming back to this thread, it's really cathartic!

she plays with my make-up brushes/make up all the time
she had mcdonalds today (well threw it around the car).
if she hasn't eaten much in a day i will give her shreddies just to get her to eat for her dinner  or a meal of grated cheese & sweetcorn
we haven't got any stair gates
i give her her dummy to shut her up.
i bought her a ceebeebies comic to keep her quiet at the checkout in the supermarket.
i laugh when she falls over.

:laff:
I've been known to do that too
I have been known to use Medised when she is just being a PITA at night and refusing to sleep, just so I can get some  !!
Occasionally give her a bottle of milk in the night to settle her if she's teething really badly- Shock-horror!!
Let her taste whatever I'm having and we very often have a biscuit with my afternoon cuppa (well she has one, I have several!)
I've stopped using low salt stock cubes in our meals as they make food sooo bland!
Sometimes have Cbeebies on most of the day
Let her wander around our flat on her own while I'm tidying up (I'm usually fairly close)
Let her play with my make-up (don't think thats bad though)
Let her trash the living room while I have a QUICK look on the internet.
(Must have been so desperate to confess all that, my hand pressed submit before I'd finished!)

These don't seem that bad....
I let her watch TV downstairs while I go on the computer
I let her have a bit of my chocolate every day because I can't give it up and can't seem to manage the art of buying it without her seeing
I let her play with things I don't allow her to play with to stop her whinging
I take her to McDonalds when I have a trip into town because it calms her down
I bribe her with food to keep her in the pushchair
spritzer
11-12-2006, 03:26pm
Here we go...
My child shouts 'yum yum chip chip' when we drive past McDonalds:oops:
We hardly ever wash his hair as he screams so much
I regularly forget to clean his teeth (daddy is much better at it anyway)
Washing/wiping hands before meals is very hit and miss TBH although it does happen after meals.
At least 50% of meals are eaten at the coffee table with the telly on.
We have the least child proof house in the world - although it is true that a few hazards do seem to help them learn self-protection
He smashed a light bulb tube thing at the dining table last week and told me he'd done it:oops:
He is allowed crisps and sweeties in small quantities but fairly regularly.

She screams blue murder and kicks like a mule when I bath her, so she only gets a bath about every 10 days. Its a real ordeal. Bad mumma.
Letting her nails grow long and too sharp. OH clips them in the end!
Blowing on her face when she is screaming blue murder. When she is holding her breath, that makes her breath in and out again.

Toby watches a lot of tv already.
I don't take him out very often because it's *so* much hassle to get out of my building, especially in bad weather, which makes me feel awful as he is really social and loves people.
I give him his dummy to keep him quiet if I'm feeling crap.
I'm so used to being on my own, I find I forgot to talk to him and then he spends ages trying to catch my eye and smile at me when I'm in the middle of a daydream  Really trying hard to break this one though.
Sometimes Lulah is only bathed twice a week
Sometimes Lulah doesnt get her teeth brushed every day
Sometimes Lulah eats muffins at "Coffee Establishments"
Sometimes Lulah sits in front of Cbeebies / Baby Einstein for hours on end
Sometimes Lulah is drugged (Medised) to go to sleep

Feck me I thought I was bad when I miss Theo's bath one day :teehee:
Uhhmm, I let him play with my hairbrush when I'm getting ready in the morning, and a bottle of cream and then a can of foundation (that he can't open anyway).
He's had medised for bedtime for 2 weeks now, but then he does have a nasty cold.
I let him bite his bath sponge and I also give him about 4-5 rice cakes a day as they keep him occupied when he gets bored on the bus journey to and from work.
Sometimes I wana just be bad, and not wash him/brush his teeth etc, but I feel so gulity, so I do it anyway:loco:

He plays with stuff he shouldnt like vaseline and then outs it in his hair(new trick on saturday !!! thought it would be fairly safe !))
Probably a million and one things as well that I shouldnt do

I am off on Maternity Leave and still sending O to nursery 3 days a week and to my SIL's on Thursdays  In fairness I would lose his place if I took him out for 6 months :yeahright: AND when he asks to stay home with me we tell him that I am going to work later on
I do forget to brush his teeth some mornings.
I sometimes don't change his vest from the one that he has worn for bed
Currently using Santa Claus and the promised Muck from Bob the Builder as bribery to behave.
PMSL at the Medised one, O is another one who's eyes light up at the sight of his medicine.
Some of these should be included in the Damsels book.

Some of these should be included in the Damsels book.
 was just gonna suggest this myself...
Right here goes....I'm also like noo noo i leave him unattended in the bath, we're in a flat so i can hear him.
I let him have chocolate on a fairly regular basis (my excuse is i was addicted to it when preggers with him and i just can't give it up and he :lurves: it)
We have CBeebies on all day long...from 8 til 7 and even when he's in bed...
If we go into town i'll buy him McDonalds but he normally only eats the chips
I've tried AK recipes and he hates them so jars and mummys food it is
I don't sterilise his bottles anymore
I never remember to brush his teeth
I let him trash my flat while i damsel
He regularly pulls my bin out
I caught him the other day with a eyeshadow applicator in his mouth  just the tip, he'd bitten it off, and i've no idea where it came from. :spank:
PHEW!!!! What a list....
