I'm thinking about filling Christmas stockings for the boys now and was wondering how much everyone spends on them.

In our house, Santa only brings the stocking toys - the ones under the tree are from us. I guess I spend about £15 on them. It's usually small toys and a few sweets. Can be tricky as I can't buy anything DS1 might recognise as a shop brand, like ELC or Wilkinson or somewhere.

What does everyone else do?

Oh, I got a catalogue for www.stocking-fillers.co.uk (http://www.stocking-fillers.co.uk) through the post on Friday. Lots similar to Hawkins Bazaar but some different as well.

I got that catalogue too! I probably go a bit overboard with Santa stuff. When I was little the stocking overflowed into a pile of big presents as well, all from Santa. I would rather she got most of her xmas stuff from Santa (since he's magical and we aren't) and just a small thing from us.

So I probably spend about £25 on actually filling the stocking itself and another £25ish on books/games/bigger stuff that goes with it. But then she'll only get one parcel from us.

Well last year I made the mistake of buying a HUGE stocking that looked really empty even though it had about £20 worth of stuff in it- this year I have downsized and will spend about the same I think on filling it.

my mum used to tell me that santa sent his elves to the shops  which was why we used to have things from woolies / boots or whatever :teehee:

Far too much is the honest answer! As they get older stocking fillers cost more and more!

Think make-up, jewellery, bath bombs etc!
