View Full Version : PMS / PMT - anyone else suffer?
Hi,
Just wondering, does anyone else suffer badly from PMS? It slowly builds up before my period (or rather a show as I don't really them with the coil), but 2 days or so before it's absolutely terrible and I become a monster  :loco:
The worst symptoms are a feeling of uncontrollable rage, bloating, weepiness, I'm a complete :zombie:
If so, what can you recommend?? has anyone tried anything herbal ??
Thanks

Oh yes, is that me that you just discribed!! I am terrible and have been since I was about 15!! I even went on the pill years ago but if anything that made me worse.
So bad now, that OH has nicknamed me Taz!!! as he says that I go from 0-100 in seconds! I have started taking evening primrose oil since having the boys and as much as it helps, its not enough

I get it pretty bad too. I can feel myself getting short tempered and stressy but there's nothing I can do about it. I've never really taken anything for it, I've just accepted it as part of me. I guess I should probably do something about it for my DH's and the kids sake if not my own
Is the pill supposed to help then? I havent taken it for years ( about 9 yrs) but am thinking about trying to go back on it and seeing how I get on ( it didnt agree with me after I had my 1st daughter so havent tried it again in years).

I have absolutely SHOCKING PMT - a lot worse since I had my daughter. Like Miss Frosty said I can go from fine to :hissyfit: in an incredibly short space of time. The pill didn't make much difference to me and my GP could only recommend evening primrose oil which doesn't have a huge effect tbh.

Me, really badly poor lexx  I manage to go off on one about everything and nothing, god help anyone who stands in my way
Oh good, for a while there I thought I was the only one who goes a bit :hissyfit: :loco:
Seriously, I get so bad I scare myself sometimes - in fact just ask Cat Queen who unfortunately was on the receiving end of a text, that was supposed to go to my ex as we were arguing about money  . She was so scared she was going to send me the money herself
Have been into Holland & Barretts and the lady there recommended taking Agnus Castus, apparently it balances out the hormones. Here is a list of how it is supposed to help:
PMT - Agnus Castus can improve;
Headache
Breast tenderness
Fatigue
Bloating
Anxiety and other similar psychological symptoms
Irregular cycle
Short or long cycleWill give it a go and see how I get on, and will report back.

I used to get like this too - usually 2 weeks before my period:zombie: Doctor said it gets worse with age (nearly ripped his head off at that point:lol: )
He prescribed Evening Primrose AND Starflower oil and I must admot, it took a few months, but I did start to feel better. (I then had to stop while we were ttc and the symptoms came back with avengance)
