We really need to choose our patio slabs tonight but have been a bit blinded by the array of choice!!! (have about 20 different brochures from different companies here!)

What colour/material do you think would work well with red brick and decking?

The plan is to have something like the diagram below:

|--------------House-Wall-------------|
|........'-S1-'.........'---Step2--'..|
|.......................Patio.........|
|... Patio .......|-------------------|
|.................|...................|
|.................|...................|
|.................|....Decking........|
|=================|...................|
|==Planter========|...................|
..................|...................|
..................|...................|
..................|...................|
..................|-------------------|
..........................Lawn.........

We have approx a 50cm drop down from the doors to the lawn.

S1 and Step2 are steps from Kitchen + patio doors.
Patio will be an area of patio approx 6m * 2.2m narrowing to 1m
Decking will be a 3m square decked area, a step down from the patio. You would then step down from this onto the lawn
Planter is a planter consisting of parallel brick built walls.Any other thoughts/criticisms/improvements to the design would be welcome :smile:
Haven't drawn it here but the current plan is to have a circular lawn with spaced slabs in an arc around one edge (to form a path), planting on the other side of the path + a small circular brick 'paved' area at the other end of the garden.

Here are some pics of the garden a while ago showing the brick colour (the bricks for the planter and the retaining walls for the patio will be the same as these) http://www.damsels.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6241

Having a panic now, builder is coming back to go through the stuff we want to quote for in more detail.

Thought we'd decided on grey slabs - Millstone from http://www.stonemarket.co.uk/ (the pics aren't great on the site) http://www.stonemarket.co.uk/millstone_flags.asp (http://www.stonemarket.co.uk/millstone_flags.asp)
But at the last minute OH starts saying that he thinks it has to be pale slabs with a yellowy tone:hissyfit: in fact he now seems to think we should completely change the design, get rid of the deck, make it all one level with steps (hmm why don't we just keep our old patio).

The builders will be here in 10 mins, why couldn't he have said something before! Wish we'd just got a garden designer in now.
