View Full Version : Can't believe I'm asking this - thighs chafing in this heat?
Crikey I feel very  to be asking this, but I'm getting really quite sore now  Basically I'm not a skinny whippet at the best of times, and being 6mths pregnant you can imagine now is not the best of times size-wise, and so my inner thighs rub together when I walk. This has never been a problem, but this current weather is obviously making me sweat, and I'm living in skirts so getting skin-to-skin contact, and getting really sore chafing. What can I do to ease this, short of bandaging the top of both thighs or something equally hot, not to mention tricky with a bump in the way?!  Putting a layer of moisturiser on gives temporary relief but doesn't last long. Any recommendations or am I the only person to have this problem?

I asked this question last week and was pointed to the comfort shorts and they get a huge :thumb: from me. I would say though that I would have normally bought size 1 but they only had size 3 in the shops so I bought them and they are great - plenty of room for the bump to grow! They are ultra comfy and not sweaty at all.

I have been known to use Vagisil Feminine Powder - it's a talc-free talc! It says it contains a natural deoderant (nice!), an exclusive moisture shield that forms an invisible film to protect skin from chafing and irritation, and absorbs up to 25 times more moisture than talc! I think I got it from Boots.
The only problem is trying not to blush when buying it! Why does it have to be called Vagisil???
Thanks all :flowers: I'll check out the link to the shorts when I'm not flat-out at work  Vagisil???  What happened when they did the market research on the proposed names for that??? :faint: Sounds like something medical and not very nice - but if it does the job! :sigh:

Another big thumbs up here for the comfort shorts and they only cost £3.50 :thumb:
And you can also get Femfresh talc which should do the same job as the nasty named one

the best talk for it is one I posted last year on the bag. It begins with Z. let me lower my standards and search the bag. Ordinary talc can make it worse.

Just to say I too have this problem - I am 31 weeks pregnant and like wearing skirts. But I also love long walks in the sun!
So far I have been forced to wear jog bottoms because of the chafing thighs.
But the shorts and products sound worth a go - thanks!

Fantastic! I never would have thought to ask that question. I'm a nurse and 20 weeks pregnant and in this weather we don't have to wear tights but going without I've gotten very sore! Will have a look at ebay for those shorts!
Thanks
