I didn't start until DD was 6 months and would of left it longer if i could have because it was a complete PITA to begin with.

Well I have decided to leave it for 3 weeks. OH think I am mad and said I shouldnt listen to HV.... I dont know what to believe:huh:
I told HV that I would like to wean before 6 months as I am going back to work then and she made me feel very guilty going back to work saying that " well if you have to be back at work at 6 months then your nursery will have to help you weaning":hissyfit: :hissyfit:
Well, i have to bl.......dy work as we need food on the table:angry:
First of all you are made feel guilty giving up BF and now I feel guilty weaning before 6 months.
I was weaned before I was 4 months, as this was normal then.

I think all the recomendations can be a bit of a minefield. I fully intended to wait till 6 months to wean BUT dd had other ideas and very clearly told me she was ready at just after 5 months by eating a large chunk out of my shopping list  and shortly aftrewards having a go at the newspaper dh was reading
I decided if she was determined to eat then I wanted to be in charge of what she was eating and so I started introducing solids and she loves it

:brainache: at your very rude HV!!!!
If Seb is ready to wean and you want to I think you should go for it!
You certainly shouldn't feel guilty about having to go back to work and actually and can totally see where you are coming from wanting him weaned before you do this, he is your baby and as his mum I am sure you want to be the one that goes through this with him.
Some HV are fab but some just seem to make things so difficult! We have to see a paeditrician every so often coz of what happened when T was born. In my opinion he is a lot more qualified to give me advice than a HV and he said to just try and leave it as long as you can but he was adament about not doing it before 6 months, neither did he look down on me for not bfeeding and said T was getting everything he needed from his formula!!
Do what YOU feel is right
