Seen various threads like this, but none for us, so thought I'd start one :ellie:

Our little ones are nearly 1 :faint: Doesn't time fly?

How are we all getting on? What are they all up to?

Adam is 1 on the 19th, and is crawling, cruising and doing a bit of standing on his own (for a second or two). He's being a sod about eating, refusing to be spoonfed :sigh: so meals are finger food and messy. Ah well, it'll pass! I *think* we're getting a word or two - he consistently says 'ba ba' and waves when saying goodbye to people, and a couple of times he's said something like 'au-a' when seeing Laura, but that's a bit of a tricky one so I think it'll be a while before I know for sure he's saying her name. Otherwise just lots of 'dadadada' and 'bababab' and general noisiness! ETA and we now have 6 teeth!!

He takes great joy in BASHING things, loves balls and anything with wheels, and 'ice skates' round our hall (wood floor) with a remote control in each hand, arms out in front of him, little legs going like the clappers pushing himself along! :loco:  He still cries himself to sleep most times, but typcially only 5mins and he's zonked, and he's just about got the hang of sleeping through (although had a 4am and an 11pm feed on two occasions last week :zombie: )

He's a very cheeky little chap and a real 'lad' - into everything, climbing everything, never sits still :happyno: He must be fairly manic as the ladies at nursery ALWAYS remark on it, and they spend all day with lots of babies/crawlers/toddlers, but they all think he's fab (if hard work! )

Sounds like Adam is getting on really well! I think bashing things is a boy thing--Lucas is never happier than when he's bashing away on the table with a remote!

Lucas is crawling and cruising, too, and while he isn't standing on his own I don't think it will be long now... He loves trying to climb onto the sofa, too

He's been saying mum-ma and dada for a couple of months now but the rest is just burbling and babbling. We've been going to Sing & Sign classes and he's picked up a few signs, so hopefully we'll start hearing more words soon

We're not getting on terribly well with finger foods at the moment, and he's also going through a weird phase where he wants a slurp of milk after every single spoonful of food. Very irritating! Still, he has eight teeth so maybe he'll get more into finger foods soon...

Everyone comments on how smiley he is, so we've clearly been doing something right!

Can't believe they're nearly one :faint:

Matthew is doing really well. He is also crawling and cruising, pulling himself up on everything in sight (including my legs this morning which was a PITA as I was trying to brush my teeth at the time  ) and has just started trying to climb - he can go up a couple of stairs and climbs on to the bed.... just when I was thinking the bedroom floor was a safe place to leave him  He NEVER seems to stay still and even if the door to the room he's in is open a tiny crack, he sees an opportunity to escape

He says 'Mama', 'Dada', 'Hiya' (not always in context) and 'Duck'.... oh, and 'Quack'.... he is obsessed with birds and thinks they are all ducks

He is another real little boy... he loves wires, the PS2 controllers, the Sky remote and emptying bins. Current favourite activity is standing up at the coffee table and bashing things on it.... oh, and putting his toys in the bin  He also loves trains, blocks and books.... especially anything with flaps that he can turn over.

He's got six teeth now and is doing ok with food, although he's been going through a throwing stage... he's willing to try anything though which is good. He mostly sleeps through the night, although my idea of 'morning' isn't necessarily the same as his.

He is really happy most of the time, big smiles, very affectionate and I love him :lurve:

Aww, lovely to hear from you, they're both obviously doing brilliantly :ellie: It's such a lovely age too, isn't it? :cheer2:

There must be more Oct 06 mums out there though...... :puzzled:
