I like all kinds of pasta sauce as long as it is cheese :wik: Delia does a good receipe for a cheese sauce you can make with any kind of cheese.

Start with a basic tomato sauce -

Chopped onion and fry until soft, fry off a bit of crushed garlic - add a tin of chopped toms and tomato puree to taste. Then add some Swiss Marigold Bouillon, basil and/or oregano and S&P to taste. Add a splash of water and simmer until thickened.

Now you can add what you like - roasted peppers, olives, tuna, bacon, ham, chopped sausages, whatever (lol - not all together!!!!!!!!!!)

Also try this very easy lunch dish - half cherry tomatoes and oven roast in Olive oil. Cook pasta. Get the toms very well done and then in the dish stir in a good bit of mayo and add the pasta. It is lovely!

Oven roasted veg mixed in with a little of the basic tomato sauce and little cubes of mozarella is nice too.

I also love cheese sauce Joanna! Lovely with finely chopped fried onion and bacon in!

I also like a creamy white wine and mushroom sauce with my pasta!

NM - I make my tomato sauce almost identically to you but I fry onion, garlic, finely chopped carrot and celery for about 10 mins before adding anything else. A good way to get extra veg into the little one :laff: Adding tuna and courgettes to this is my fave after the good old spag bol.

I love macaroni cheese especially with leeks and bacon in it.

Roasted cherry tomatoes done with some seasoning and balsamic vinegar and then stirred into 1/2 tub of melted philadelphia and then mixed with pasta is totally lush.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE... the sainsburys passata in a glass bottle. I buy the one with garlic and onion.

If you wanted to pep it up abit, you could add a chilli to it (Arribiata style).

Recommend this lots! And it's only 60p ish for a large bottle. 1 bottle would certainly be enough for tea.
