Hollie is 8 and half months and is showing no sign whatsoever of wanting to crawl/bum shuffle/ get about!
She doesnt even try and shuffle at all  When you put her on her tummy she moans and whimpers and then lays her head down :teehee:
She is quite happy sat on her mat or on my knee playing with her toys- the most energrtic she gets is reaching out to get a toy
Starting to worry a little as most babies her age her crawling, rolling (she never really bothered with that either!) and some are even pulling themselfs up on furniture !

i know its hard not to worry but oh my god enjoy her stillness cause a mover and groover is bl**dy hard work :zombie: :teehee: she'll do it when she's ready but speak to your health visitor if your worried she'll put your mind at ease all you can do is give her the oportunities and encourage her and she'll get moving when she's ready

You must live in Superbaby-ville! I've never seen an eight month old crawl!
Lucy crawled at nine months which I guess was quite early, I know plenty of littl'uns that didn't "move" until a year! Make the most of it if you can

omg, BOTH mine crawled before 8 months (Craig at 6 months  and Logan at 7) but I agree with the others and ENJOY that she can't move about yet. It's such hard work!
Is she sitting up by herself? I think that's one of the things they look for in the first year, but aren't concerned if they aren't crawling yet.

She'll do it when she is ready,
Hannah was like this at 8 months. She hasn't crawled. (She's 1).She didn't start showing an interest in moving until month ago. Katie never crawled at all, she never even started cruising until she was 13 months.
Sol didn't move til he was about a year old. They all have their own timetables, as Yummymummy said make the most of it!

Yes Meemoo make the most of it my house is a state as I can no longer leave my man in one spot and come back to find him in the same place and he gets cross in his cot as he gets stuck!!!
She is concentrating on something else like fine motor skills or conversation etc!

My friends little boy was the same, he didn't even sit up unaided until he was 8 months old and then at 11 months just started crawling, about a month later he was walking

oh, forgot to say, I never crawled. At 10 months my mum thought she had ages, but then I got up one day and just walked instead!
Jack didnt crawl til he was 10 months old.
She will get there in her own time

I was going to say don't worry too. Anna rolled front to back at five months but then didn't show any interest in rolling at all until she managed back to front and 7.5m, but rolling was all she'd do for ages - she was content to just sit there knowing mummy was at her beck and call for everything  . She started crawling at 11m, is getting quite quick now but is still showing absolutely no inclination to pull herself up on anything. I still doubt she'll be walking by Christmas, but hey, it's cheaper on shoes!!!

Apparantly I didn't crawl at all and only walked at 18 months - I was a right lazy moo and wanted to be carried everywhere! My son on the other hand was crawling at three months and walking properly by seven.
Every child is so totally different and they do things completely at their own pace.
Please don't worry, your lo will crawl when she is good and ready and not a minute before.

 hon
I *think* Georgia crawled at 9 months. Layla was between 8 - 9 and my little baby Ella has already started commando crawling and she's only 6 months  :faint:
BUT 8 months is not late to be not crawling she will do it when she's ready like the others have said make the most of it cos once she's off you won't be able to leave her for a minute
Do NOT will your baby to move!!! :happyno: The second they do you wish they'd SIT STILL!!!! Laura didn't move at all until 10.5mths. Adam was razzing round like a loon from 8mths. I know which was easier :sigh: :teehee: Adam has a little friend only 6 days younger than him, and he's not moving at al :happyno: Perfectly happy and content little lad, nothing whatsoever wrong with him, he'll move when he wants to.

I wouldn't worry at all meemoo. I take J to a group sometimes and the babies are all similar ages, anyway theres about 10 or so and the majority can't crawl. My nephew didn't crawl at all and just started walking at a little over a year.

I'm in the same boat as you meemoo.
O is not crawling but I have started to not let it worry me too much, as I know he'll do it in his own time.
It is nice to know that you can leave them somewhere and they're still there when you turn your back!

Oh Meemoo!
Chloe was crawling at six months and has started walking already :brainache: and oh boy I miss those days of sitting nicely playing with her toys.
I can definitely tell you which I would prefer
She is pure trouble! Tries to get in the washing machine, the tumble drier. Can get into cupboards. Climbs the stairs.
One word Nightmare!

Chloe didn't sit up unaided until 8.5 months! The HV wasn't worried at all. Crawling came just before her 1st birthday, walking at 15 months.
Plenty of time yet!
