Apparently our primary is becoming middle school.... The secondary school might be becoming a high school...... and it all starts after half term as we are in the first Suffolk phase.... :brainache:

So somewhere along the line either DS gets stuck at his school until 16 or DD goes up to middle school next year then has to move back down to her "renamed" primary school essentially still the same building though and christ only knows where Fred who starts their nursery in January will be shoved. Spoke to the office staff today and they don't even know what's happening to them....

Hate it!

Oh my goodness! This all sounds very confusing! I dread to think how the children will take it! I don't imagine those that may have to return to their primary school would be happy!

All sounds a like a bit of a shambles! x

That sounds like a lot of inconvenience and uncertainty.

What's the difference between a high school and a secondary, btw?

At the moment we have Primary which is 5 - 9

Then Middle which is 10 - 13

And then High school up to 16

They are changing it to a 2 tier system so just Juniors/middle/infants or whatever the hell they will call it followed by a high school....

WHY FFS????????

We are going to end up with schools full of those prefab buildings because they simply can't accommodate all these kids nor do they have the facilities such as science labs etc needed for the older ones....

I'm going to see how it goes but reserve the right to remove them from it all completely....

Thought I'd update this for Suffolk damsels it might affect as I went to a review meeting last night....

They are closing all the middle schools in 2011.... all the children who are currently in Y3 and Y4 are the ones it will affect most as they will have only two or three years in a middle school before the closures. They are opening a new high school here to cope with the overloads and those same children will the the first ones into that school and will then be rattling around until it fills up as the years go on!!

Have 5 kids all at different stages doesn't help.... I know they will stay in their primary school until 11 now but I just don't know WHERE there primary school will be located!!!

I hate it...... b*stards who decided this for us!!!
